Sirach 11:29 Do not bring every man into your home, for many are the wiles of the crafty.

Well, that’s certainly an apropos quote.🤷

The mechanics of the screening process haven’t been very well publicized, to my knowledge.

I welcome refugees, but they do need to screened by honest people.

Seeing how these refugees that went to Honduras were somewhat followed incognito to see what they would do, we can all hope that our intelligence agencies as well may have a hand in this to observe and follow the refugees in case any dangerous ones show up, to the suspect ones, the screener could appear to be a normal charity worker.

Apparently, a large group of Syrian refugees were accepted by Antigua, but then “jumped ship” to the Virgin Islands en masse.

Who knows where they are now.

A Pew poll on how ISIS is viewed in the world, favorable, unfavorable and don’t know.

Overwhelmingly, they are viewed as unfavorable but as the Assyrian International News Agency still points out how in a few countries, there is still a small minority that views them favorably:

Turkey, 8% favorably.
Pakistan, 9% favorably.

And so on.

There are literally hundreds of different names various extremist groups are using in Syria right now, so it would seem almost impossibly complicated to sort out who is sympathetic toward and tied to Islamic State and who isn’t. It’s a mess.

I must admit to having mixed thoughts and mixed feelings on this issue. I am a refugee myself having come over to escape civil war in the old country.

However I also understand why some people are concerned on the possibility of welcoming bad elements into this country. There are a lot of bad elements already here so why welcome more. I don’t think we have the right to demand that someone roll over and expose their throat in the name of Christian charity.
