Well I agree with that as well. But that’s not the limits of it - racism is not the sole province of the Left nor the Right.

Perhaps if we didn’t assume all whites are racist and everything that happens to any black person is due to racism, we could think about this issue more clearly and come up with solutions that work.
No it’s not.

It’s the province of all humans.

We can all be racists and we have to guard against this tendency in ourselves.

I have met too many racist conservatives and many racist liberals of all races.

You should read the link I posted. I wish I could thank the person who originally posted on another thread, but I forgot the name 😳

The undeniable racism of the 18th and 19th century has left an eternal legacy on the psyche of America but also the Western world. It is undeniable and inescapable.
But racism hasn’t affected any other part of the world? Just western civilization?
Does that mean that racism is a non issue- and e.g. doesn’t exist in any form within the establishments? No.
Be specific. Realism has been illegal in American institutions for nearly 60 years. If you know of any, you are obligated to report it.

Just look at the representation of black Americans in US prisons and in crime statistics. What more needs to be said?
So racism caused them to commit crimes?
It is not that hard. Racism causes poverty and poverty increases crime.

My dad and mom were both raised in an inner city in the depths of the recession. That wasn’t their experience.
Thomas Sowell speaks of his experience, and concurs with my parents

Its impacted many parts of the worlds. Lots of terrible examples of racism in Chinese culture…
That doesn’t change the fact that the impact of a couple centuries of oppression of blacks in the West has left a mark…

Of course it has… What’s your point?

Racism is bigger than legislation. It is an inescapable fact that the push for a globalised world will inherently force meshing of peoples and cultures. This friction, in addition to the pains of real historical persecution, will forever shape relations between races. It’s a fact of human life.

So racism doesn’t apply?
It shows progress to be sure…Obama could not have been elected in the 1950s…obviously. I was just pointing out that its not as much progress as some people like to make out. We have yet to see a descendant of slaves, a cultural African American, rise to the US presidency.

I’ve heard African Americans say, if you want to escape the problems, get out of the Inner City, go West or something like that.

Fatherless Homes I have heard some black leaders say is the biggest problem in the Black community. What is this one man’s name, Kwame ?? Or something like that, others besides Larry Elder:

https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/michae...-families-are-no-1-problem-america-not-racism
Larry Elder:

Fatherless Families Are No. 1 Problem in America, Not Racism

Easily a bigger problem.

Fatherless families are a big problem.

However the rates of children being born to single mothers is going up.

How are we to convince people to reserve sex for marriage?

That is also a problem.

I suspect it has more to do with rejecting “whiteness”.

Exactly and this is a central problem. I don’t know if people have Relevant Radio, they have a new show (probably about 4 months old actually), “Trending with Timmerie”. I’m not saying it’s a show that discusses “race”, I’d say no but she talks about a lot of these matters having to do with what you just said, in other words, sex and so on but not really in a way that is for mature audiences. I’ve really come to like her show. She had one previously, which was just on the weekends. Now, she is daily.

Yes, you speak of a problem that affects many of us regardless.

It was put up by the Smithsonian Museum of African American History, that is what they claim whiteness is.

Talk about generalizations…wow. Some of those bullet points ring true, and all of them are true in some sectors of “white” society…but wow. I’m white, my wife is Latina…I wonder how our son is supposed to fit on that chart…avoids conflict half the time? Discusses personal life half the time? Insists on a rigid schedule, half the time? lol

Because he wasn’t black enough? Because he wasn’t the right kind of black?

What is this about?

Its not for me to say whether he was the “right kind of Black”. I know some African Americans have pointed out that he is not really from their community…his ancestors weren’t slaves. He’s half white. Its pretty arbitrary to lump in the half-white, half-Kenyan son of immigrants into the African American category…but I guess he did self-identify with that group, rightly or wrongly.
He’s half white…why does that make him a black man? Also arbitrary. But it is what it is.
My wife is from the Dominican Republic…she has African ancestry…she has brown skin…but don’t you ever call her Black…she’ll reject that label. Its all arbitrary… but objectively, Obama is not from the African American community.

President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. tweeted the graphic on Wednesday and tied to it the presidential campaign, writing,

“These aren’t ‘white’ values. They’re American values that built the world’s greatest civilization. They help you succeed here, no matter your color. So make no mistake, Biden’s radicals aren’t coming for ‘whites,’ they’re coming for the entire American way of life.”
