is it wrong for a man to take his shirt off at a public pool? is this providing occassions of sin for women?

Not for me. And not most men, unless it would be an occasion of a sin of uncharity when we ladies comment on how out-of-shape they are.

Seriously, in American culture at least, a man’s bare chest is not a sexual sight or an occasion of sin. Don’t take things to extremes.

haha. its nice to see a woman’s point of view because I, as a male, have no idea what parts of my body would potentially be sexual sites for women.

It would probably be a violation of public health regulations if either a man or woman tried to swim in a public pool wearing street clothes.

well then the question would be if it was wrong to go to a public pool

Bear in mind that the sexual import of covering body parts is largely cultural. Samuel Clemens was greatly offended and disturbed by the fact that native Sandwich Islander women did not cover their breasts. It was not an occasion of sin for the islanders, but it sure bothered the European and American visitors.

Have you seen most men lately? 😃

My only concern is scaring small children with my “white whale” or “manatee-man” appearance. :rotfl:

But if some dude’s buff, he ain’t gonna cover it up by wearing a shirt, or wearing a wet shirt!

I would not have a problem at a public pool because I would assume that he was going in the water.

I am one of those females who find any male without a shirt to have great sex appeal.

Even in my own house, I ask my husband not to take his shirt off. I don’t allow any male in my house to be shirtless. It has always been an issue for me but I try not to dwell on it.

I would be concerned with insulin resistance if you have visceral fat.

This thread is hilarious.

Cmon Pete, please don’t go into extremes.

Taking your shirt off at a public pool is a MUST if u are going to swim, there is nothing wrong with taking ur shirt off even if ur not swimming in a public pool area.

And there is nothing wrong with going to a public pool

If you are a very well built man perhaps wearing those tight bathing bottoms(are they called speedos?) might be a problem.

The only men though whom I have seen in them were plump hairy guys.

If you were the regular swimming trunks that most guys do, I don’t see the problem. I have seen guys wearing white t-shirts at pools. I think that this is to hide their bellies, not to protect women from accidental sin.

I would think that it would be uncomfortable, but why would it be a health issue? If I want to jump in the pool with shorts and a t-shirt, is that unsanitary?

I am curious, not argueing.🙂

The heavy, wet clothes might drag a swimmer under and cause drowning?

Funny Thread!

We see more bare chest on any “toothpaste” commercial than we ever will in public! 😃

I don’t think that women (unlike men) are attracted by bare chests.

I don’t know?🤷 My sons sometimes swim in their shorts and we haven’t had any problems. I know women who are plump who wear their shorts and shirts to go swimming and they don’t seem to have an issue with drowning. I understand not wearing jeans and your sneakers into the pool, but shorts and a t-shirt would seem fine.

I don’t know if it’s a health-dept. regulation or what, but I don’t think I have ever seen a public pool that didn’t have this rule, even in a semi-private area such as my condo complex. Someone once told me that it is because people will leave things in their pockets such as used handkerchiefs which harbor nasty germs (eeeuww!), or stuff like Kleenex which can fall apart and clog the filters. I don’t know why they wouldn’t allow t-shirts, though. 🤷
