The Baroque period music that comes after the Renaissance has a more colorful sound.

I’m more concerned about what God thinks than some celebrity.
Yes me too.

Genesis 19:1-5
Leviticus 18:22, 20:13
Romans 1:26-32
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
1 Timothy 1:10-11

“The arrogant mock me unmercifully,
but I do not turn from your law.” Psalm 119:51

Which celebrities do not endorse the LGBT life style? It’s in so many commercials, TV shows, and movies. Of course it’s found its way into music as well. These singers may start out on the innocent side but most get so indoctrinated into secularism and modernism they lose their way. It is sad.

Hands up anyone here who is old enough to remember when the (real) gay lobby used to mock and ridicule traditional values such as religion, marriage, monogamy, commitment and family?

They used to be honest about their blatant hedonism. The used to have actual #pride and flaunt their promiscuous freedom.

Taylor Swift and her 🌈 family #loveislove fascade isn’t fooling anyone.

I’m sure there as are some who don’t endorse these degenerates. Of course they are afraid to speak up about it. It’s ok to mock Christians. Imagine the outcry if a video mocked gays.

I don’t keep track of peoples’ careers, and I haven’t watched any of her stuff on YouTube, but wasn’t Taylor Swift a country singer? That’s kind of even uglier— not just mocking Christians, but mocking the values of the people who made you rich and famous.

You’re engaging in a whole lot of stereotyping there. Not all country music fans are social conservatives, nor are all country music artists. There are plenty of country music fans and performers among liberals, and even among LGBT folk. And there are plenty of “rednecks” that just can’t abide country music.

I live in Texas, so I’m good with the variety, and I see it firsthand. 😉 Although I can’t think of a single one of my deep-blue friends who has any afffinity for country music… but I don’t worry about it, because I don’t listen to it, either.

But the point I’m trying to make is that country music evolved from Southern folk/gospel music, and the tropes/cliches you traditionally get in country music reflect that in a way that, say, hip-hop reflects the tropes/cliches from gangsta/street culture. That’s not to say that all country music is religious and conservative, or that all country music fans are religious and conservative— just like everyone who likes hip-hop isn’t a street thug.

In this song, Taylor Swift is the one doing the stereotyping. Just look at all the Christians… they are living in trailer parks, toothless, uneducated so things are spelled wrong on the signs being held, and they are all made to look ugly. " Haters gonna hate, hate, hate…" Take your own advice Taylor, and" just shake it off, shake it off…"

Anyone besides myself getting tired as being portrayed as low-level thinking bigots, because we don’t accept the LGBTQ lifestyle ?

The Church is treated as a bigoted institution and those of us who belong, must also be bigots.

I didn’t take her video as just a dig on religious people – it struck me as being a dig on the same old tired hillbilly stereotype about the poor, particularly in rural areas or the south. Even secular critics have referred to it as being classist, especially coming from a rich girl like Swift who was born wealthy to begin with.

Critics have also referred to her new song and video as the musical version of a corporate logo dressed in rainbow colours for pride month. Which I think is probably true. Swift is very calculated about everything she does. Before she was all about “feminism” to sell her albums. Now she’s going to be all about getting those gay dollars.

It’s a completely unfair misrepresentation, and often, it’s the cop-out-card of those rallying to support LGBT. You can call them out for doing illegal acts (like the, let’s say, indecent public exposure from the pride parades), and the police won’t arrest them, or even fine them, for fear of being labelled as “bigoted.” It’s completely insane!

Okay, we can rant. But remember, we also must love those that hate us. That’s what being a Catholic is.

I liked the song. I prefer hip-hop but all her music is usually good.

It is important for Christians to know this things. Why? I do not listen to Taylor Swift, and do not watch her videos.

That said. Children do listen to her, and as a father, I would not know this things unless someone points it out to me.

I will speak of this to my children, while at the same time telling them, that Mrs Swift is a troubled soul, and may not know what she is doing.

Or maybe she isn’t a troubled soul and does know what she’s doing. She just doesn’t see life like you do.
