took it as a criticism of, to be frank, the anti-gay extremists.
The lyrics suggest that, but her letter about the equality act clearly states her views on that matter. That she doesn’t agree with religious views about this, and that religious people shouldn’t be allowed to refuse services to the community even if it’s against their beliefs.
For all I know, Taylor Swift may not be doing this stuff of her own volition. It isn’t popular to be anti-homosexual in the United States in this day and age.
She is definitely a true blue liberal. She’s very close with outspoken liberals like Lena Dunham, and she’s extremely close with many lgbt individuals. This is clearly a political issue she believes in and decided to capitalise off it after criticism of being too quiet.

When she was around her late teens around the late 2000s up till the mid 2010s, if I’m correct on that length. I would hear her sing on the country radio growing up, use to have some of her songs on my iPod. Over time, she slowly shifted over to pop music and seemed to have drop country.

She never sang country music. I doubt she’d even be able to name three country singers.

Her first hit single was labeled “Tim McGraw”. So theres one country singer.

Like any pop star for all we know she was told to create this video this way - to make $. Who knows

It’s just not country, no matter how many times you call it that. She’s pop. Period. Tammy Wynette, Kitty Wells, Connie Smith = country. Taylor Swift = pop.

I don’t consider her country. I use to, but not anymore.
It’s perfectly fine if you don’t associate her with country then or now.

She used to open for almost every famous country singer/band back in the days, and was close with them. She was usually labelled as a country pop singer though, since she liked to mix both. Or at least that’s how stores here liked to categorise her.

Another demon-manipulated Hollywood / “music” industry type. What else is new?

Really? So, if I had gone to see George Jones, or Gene Watson, or Buck Owens, or Connie Smith, etc, I would have seen her? That seems kind of odd, since their music isn’t anything alike.

I think the problem here is age. There have been other country artists besides the older ones you have named, HollowMan. And while I don’t care much for current country, there have been others after the group of performers you mentioned that were good too.

Yes, Taylor Swift was considered country in her early days. Her music was played on country stations, not pop stations. Then, she grew up and expanded her musical taste and left country behind.

The problem with the article and Taylor swift, is that both are under the impression that a Majority of Christians actually care about either.

The small majority of Christians that do pay attention to hack celebs that rely on stirring the pot to keep their fame going is what keeps them in the lime light. An when you see celebs in the music or tv / movie industry, branching from their bread and butter niche and start voicing their political and religious opinions it is because they are on the tail end or on the way out of being " famous " . The ones that care about their careers, and enjoy what they do, don’t take such unneeded risks. Less of course their bank account is at such a level that they can actually afford to make a spectacle of themselves and voice their worthless opinions with out any real risk.

Well, the most important thing is to demonize homosexuals, to mock them, to make those who fight for gay rights look like hedonists, to make them in to subhumans…
What an offensive attitude!
Why would you “demonise” ppl or try to make them “subhuman”?

Well, the most important thing is to demonize homosexuals, to mock them, to make those who fight for gay rights look like hedonists, to make them in to subhumans and accuse their supporters of being defenders of wickedness.

Being judgmental and casting stones at other people is what Christianity is all about, after all.
This sounds like either a straw man or you’re confusing the likes of the Westboro Baptist church with Christianity.

Just so you know the WBJ not only doesn’t speak for Christianity- it is not a Christian organization at all, nor is it a legitimate “church” in the first place.

I wouldn’t know, but if they were pretty successful and relevant during her time there may have been a possibility. I remember her saying she used to be obsessed with Buck Owens.

I can barely remember her old career, but I remember her opening up for George Strait, covering his song at one point. Modern country music is vastly different from its traditional counterpart anyway. Just like pop music then and now. Doesn’t make it real or fake, and it’s pretty weird to act like some sort of gatekeeper for it when the industry considered her first couple of albums country enough.

It’s simply not country. If you think it is, then I don’t think you know what country music is.

I’m surprised that you would support such actions, but perhaps it was to be expected.
