So my question is this: Do you believe that Bernadette actually saw the Virgin Mary? Did the three children at Fatima see her?
Of course I believe! Have you seen the “relic” of Bernadette? She is completely incorrupt.

I think the relics of the saints and the alleged “relic” of the OT Ark of the Covenant are two different analogies here though. The Arc of the Old T. was replaced by Mary, the Mother of God, therefore, the OT Ark has vanished from the earth. There would be no need for a “relic” of the OT Ark because people (who are not Christians - and Protestant Christians alike) would believe that the OT Ark still contained it’s immense powers that were from God. Countries waging war would be trying to possess it to carry it before their armies to defeat the opponent.

This is why Mary is said to be “Terrible as an army in battle array!” The OT Ark of the Covenant carried the Word of God on Stone, which whatever army carried on it’s shoulders won in battle. Mary carried the Word of God in Flesh in Her womb, now making Her the New Ark of the Covenant. There is no more an old “Ark”. God I’m sure has taken it off the face of the earth.

How come I don’t get to see things like this happen with my own eyes? 😛

And that is why praying the Holy Rosary to Our Lady is in direct conjunction with the OT carrying of the Ark of the Covenant. By praying the Holy Rosary one is literally carrying that Ark of the Covenant on their shoulders into battle and never being defeated!

Pray the rosary!

All along I was hoping that someone from the area would drive there and come back to CAForums and chime in.

You are not what I expecting to hear. Too bad. I will keep my hopes up that someone will drive there to see.

When I was a girl…oh maybe 10 or 12 I don’t remember now. There was a news story of apparitions on a tabernacle cloth in a small rural church in PA.

I insisted that my father drive me there. It was a full day trip going to and from. When I arrived at my destination, I was surprised by the antiquity and smallness of the church…so close to the road on top of a hill…it was so absolutely tiny. I knelt at the Blessed Sacrament and saw what I had hoped to see.

Perhaps in time you will soften and be less bitter of things and people you don’t understand.
I’ve been there twice with some co-workers. It sure looks real to me. I walked all around the stature looking for anything that would look out of place or new or tamped with and found nothing that looked like it could be a prank. So for now, I belive until I’m proven wrong.

I have been back a few times myself. Last Sunday there were cars parked along the two lane highway for a good half mile. This church is located in a semi-rural part of the county. I was encouraged by the fact that there were no signs of anyone trying to profit ($$) from what was happening there. The air was filled with the sound of voices chanting the rosary in Vietnamese.

Is it continuing, or was it a one or two time event?

Thank you for sharing Santa Cruz. I feel more and more touched as I view and read the news stories. Even if the tears have a practical rather than miraculous explanation I am moved to see the interest and prayerfulness of the Faithful.

I live in sacramento and went on monday night and must say it is a beatiful site 🙂

Cool Beans! 👍

Glad that somehow my dumb yet simple explanations might help someone pray the rosary!
God Bless!

I’d like to agree.

I wasn’t aware it is a statue of solid marble. I’d think if it were a hoax it would be discoverable as such. Some tampering would be evident. I’d think it would be carefully watched now. If she were to continue to shed tears of blood, it would sure seem miraculous. Especially if the tears are evaluated and are in fact blood.

I hope we hear more.
Would it be disrespectful to test the DNA of the blood and compare that with the DNA of blood seen on the host in some places? Could the relationship of mother / son be determined by this test?

Two time’s. The first time the Parish Priest wiped the tears off the statue. Than Our Mother cried again. As far as I know that was the last time. The local paper has not run anymore stories. I must say the Sacramento Bee has been very respectful in its reporting. I did read that the Bishop has said, that if it continues, the church will investigate.

Could it be? might it be? Is it a miracle?

Photo link…

I hope it is, but I’m not holding my breath. Unless it keeps doing it and doing it with no apparent explanation, which is what I hope with all my being happens…:yup:

Any update on this? Is it still happening?
I was wondering the same thing. Anybody? Anybody?
I’ll try doing a Google on it and see what comes up.
