Sigh!

Authentic education involves learning everything you can about a specific subject. IMO, if done properly, one can educate a young person on the merits of staying chaste from both a moral and a practical point of view, as well as, on other available options if for some reason, someday, they feel obligated to engage in sexual activity.

This is authentic education.
I am not against giving any information, depending on age, what I am against is limiting the education or giving a false education. More specifically it is false to conclude a proper education includes teaching a false morality or teaching another that the ends justify the means. Not everything that can be done should be done. So, I am in favor of full disclosure meaning the teacher tells the truth.

I see the trap you are laying, however, as you know, the majority of US Catholics, as well as, many around the world virtually ignor the Church’s rule on contraception. You know that and I know that. Many do not recognize contraception, particularly the non-abortion kind as grave sin or immoral.

I’m sorry if you don’t like that answer, but thats the way it is.
I fail to see how your point is valid? That many come to an erroneous conclusion in no way justifies that conclusion. Basically, if I am understanding your position in this matter correctly, you think parents ought to teach their children that certain drugs and devices are acceptable to use if they are going engage in behavior that is wrong. So, if one is going to commit a bad action, at least one ought to do another bad action so that the person will not suffer any ill effects from doing a bad thing. Is that it?

Again, the ends justify the means?

I’ve given you my opinion, and you’ve given me yours. We disagree. What else is there to discuss? I’m not interested in going in circles.
How the destination of arriving at the truth as the Church authoritatively teaches and guides by way of faith and moral principles? Seriously.

1789 Some rules apply in every case:
  • One may never do evil so that good may result from it; (CCC)

With that mentality yor might as well buy teens some clean unused syringes. Since they are going to make the decision to use heroin or not on their own. After all they are going to do it anyway and you wouldn’t want them to catch HIV or Hepatitis.

Both behaviors are sin and I supposed you could say damaging enough to a soul that thoughts of eternity come into play.

Well I guess on the good side I heard that it is a dry heat.🙂
I agree. It seems some think the choice is to commit an evil act, or commit an evil act more “safely”. That is not the choice. The real choice is to commit an evil act or to refrain from the evil act.

The sex thing is mostly seen as like some type of patellar reflex that is unaviodable and so we most do whatever it takes to make the action free from temporal consequences no matter how that end is achieved.

How have we come to the point that such poor moral reasoning is seen as good?
