LOL. I have to chuckle here and you are correct. At the moment I didn’t remember this, but later on I did and fully thanked Jesus for the persecution. I will trust in Him as I pick up my cross and follow. Thank you for your wonderful reminder.Hislittlelady:
Did you remember, depsite your hurt, to rejoice? Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you." (Matthew 5:11-12)
I know what you’re saying. I know a lot of very fine Protestant people and we are friends, but honestly I always get the feel that they really have a deep rooted hatred for Catholics, even though they don’t say it out loud, and I’ve noticed they seem to have some sort of animosity toward Mary, our Mother. I’ve mentioned to them that if they choose not to pray to her, so be it, but at least honor her as the Mother of Jesus and they will not. They almost act as though they hate her. Enough said. I don’t want to start any debates here on the forum so I’ll keep silent on this.Hislittlelady, I too am so sorry that this happened to you. Reading your story made me feel sad inside. You know as strange as it might sound, I never really knew how much people don’t like Catholics up until a few months ago. To this day, I still don’t know why. I’ve heard things such as people thinking that Catholicism is a cult, and that we are not true Christians, etc, and it baffles me. A cult?? Not Christians?? I mean, I just can’t figure out why people say such things.
This reminds me of a time when I was at work, and I was wearing a Sacred Heart of Jesus medal. A guy that I was assisting asked me if I was Catholic, and I told him yes. Then he said, “Hmmm.” In my mind, I couldn’t help but wonder why he responded like that.
:hug1:I will pray for your grandchildren that Jesus stays with them and that they will understand His Love.

Thank you so much Steph. That is also one of my granddaughter’s name. She’s Stepahnie but we call her Steph. Please keep my two little ones in your prayers because I have silently dedicated them both to the Lord and I pray that He will speak to their hearts to return to the true Faith of our Fathers, the One Holy Catholic Apostolic church. I just don’t understand the hatred toward us. It’s mind baffling really. We have such a wonderful holy church, started by the apostles themselves, and they have documentations as to the teachings of what Jesus said, so I often wonder, what is the problem that they hate us so. No debates please, at least not with me. Thankyou one and all.
This just goes to show that there are bad Catholics, bad Protestants and bad everything. As Catholics we are supposed to let the light of Christ shine through us and this woman did the total opposite. There is no room for bigotry or hate in any Christian religion, especially not for us Catholics. That woman had the audacity to go on TV and say all those awful things without thinking of how her remarks would hurt all those girls who were black, asians and biracial and keep on repeating how she wanted a nice cathoic girl just like her!
Sad, very sad if a so called catholic talks like that!
I totally agree with you here. I’m sure the bible has everything we need, but there is so much more and so many refuse to ackowledge that. I praise God always that He has given me a Catholic heart and I pray for all my separated brothers and sisters even so. God loves us all no matter what.i have been through these attacks many times. it is ok with me.
if we could just get them to think about this. what is the difference between those who were taught by Christ Himself and those who picked up the Bible many many years later? who are the True followers of Christ? those who were ordained by Christ Himself or those who picked up the Bible many many years after
Yikes! I pleaded with him in the beginning but his mind was set. There is nothing I can do to change this without losing my rights to see my grandchildren. There are no grandparent rights in the state I live in. So yes, I did try very heartily but lost my battle for now.Did you speak to your SIL and his wife about this? Your Catholic grandchildren are being taught these things, this is tragic.
And I say to this “Lord Have Mercy on Them”. Amen.Seriously, those people are ignorant, small minded, heartless, brainless, and uneducated. We should pity them and pray for them. We should also be very worried about the society that allows this type of person to develop and prosper. They should have long ago been taught manners, decorum, and facts. both theological and historical.
Thank you all my friends for your wonderful wisdom and advice but most of all please pray with all your hearts that my grandchildren will ultimately turn to the Catholic faith which is what I fully believe in. Now this is not to say that other Christians are not saved. That’s not my point at all. But, fact is, I am a Catholic and of course I’m going to promote Catholic doctrine, so forgive me if I’ve stepped on anyone’s toes or hurt anyone’s feeling. I ask pardon and it wasn’t meant to hurt anyone. I still say we are all brothers in Christ.
Blessings to all
for you & your family. (Good thing I wasn’t with you…I might have :slapfight: the pair of them).
