Texas School District Will Let Teachers Carry Guns

I didn’t want to go about 60’s cause most people above 60 have one foot in the grave and the internet scares them. Although the way you post reminds me of how my grandfather speaks and he is in his 90’s.
 
What is Kirk Cameron doing these days? He might be up for an afterschool special. lol:D

So which Tom would you be referring too? Tom Thumb, Tom Sawyer, Uncle Tom, Tom of Tom and Jerry, Tom Wolfe, Tom Clancy?

More importantly which of these Tom’s would carry a gun?

Here is another question, if the Teachers have permits to carry a gun, does the school have a right to tell them that they can’t carry a gun on school grounds? Seeing as how they are public property.

But it is. Far more people are injured by accidental shootings than are ever hurt in assaults on schools by gunmen.

One of my aunts finally had to give up using computers because her eyes finally got so bad even the largest print didn’t work for her, and she didn’t like the voice options.

Depends on the family, I suppose. Truth is, we all have one foot in the grave; most of us don’t like to think about how transient and fragile life is in this world.

Yes but people who write can carry a gun, also in litereature the can be described as carrying a gun. So you didn’t answer the question. The correct answer would have been Tom Wolfe or Tom Clancy as they are authors and real people so they would be able to carry a gun. It was a trick question I guess to complex for you.

So what is your arguement? I think actually if a state allows you to get a permit to carry a gun that a public institution such as a college or school should not be allowed to make rules that infringe on the rights already declared by the state.

To be honest my agenda is to make government smaller. I think Government is far too large as it is.

As I said before, how do these shootings happen? The teacher’s gun would be secure in their holster unless there was a reason to draw it. Last time I checked, guns didn’t jump out of holsters by themselves and start shooting people.

But the legislature can give them the power to do that. And it has.

Ah shucks you went and assumed again.

The only thing I want the government to run is the Military, the police, and the fire department and infrastructure. Everything else get out of. That will never happen though. People want too many hand outs.

If I read the article correctly, the teachers were paying for the guns and ammo themselves. So the government was not providing them with the weapons.

That is merely your opinion and it is not supported by historical facts. I challenge you to show me how many students were killed with firearms by those charged with their protection in schools and compare that to how many students were killed in intentional school shootings.

All accidental shootings of children have happened when a firearm is being HANDLED. There would be no reason for a gun carried by a teacher to ever leave the holster and holstered guns do not suddenly jump out and start shooting themselves.
 
What’s funny you hear this cry all the time “We don’t want guns around our children.”

Like here in Texas how many Concealed Handgun License holders go to malls, movie theaters, and restaurants carrying their guns and these places are filled with kids. I know I go to these places and kids are running around all over the place.

How many handgun accidents are happening in these public places by CHL holders? This argument about accidents is just silly and unreasonable.

As with other animals, human predators go to where the prey is the easiest. This predator is going to think twice if he knows these teachers are carrying.
