I doubt that flower shop owners would know whether a homosexual person had entered his establishment, or what relationship he had with the person he was buying flowers for.
I think that’s totally wishful thinking on your part…

Shop owner: Can I help you?

Male customer: Yes, I’d like to order a dozen red roses.

Shop owner: Who are they going to?

Male customer: Tom Smith

Shop owner: What would you like the card to say?

Male customer: Happy 1 year anniversary. I love you, John.

The numbers vary based on how the data is gathered, but I was basing my math in the above post on the 2% figure provided by opus101 in post 51. It was that number which the OP, in post 67, used to emphatically make the point that none of the people she really knows (beyond being casual acquaintances) are gay.

This was the context:
Oh yeah, I know… I’m saying that I think the % is even higher than your very conservative estimate.

It’s thought-provoking when people apply essentially the same logic that underlies racism, to make their own points.

This is not directed at any posts or individuals here, more at the entrenched behaviours we have developed as a result of treating some humanities like other sciences.

Some percentage of a racist’s experience of arbitrary group X do arbitrary behaviour Y, and she finds this entirely repeatable, therefore a generalisation can be made about what predispositions, tendencies and behaviours individuals of group X will have/exhibit.

Reading this thread, and also the comments in the video… No it has NOT been proven CONCLUSIVELY that Humans are BORN gay. No it has not. In fact, many studies (sciencemag.org/content/284/5414/665.short archpsyc.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=495588 ) find no genetic cause. However, it has been AGREED (link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs10508-006-9062-2 tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1300/J082v51n04_09) by most scientists that Homosexuality is more likely related to choices due to the environment (i.e. culture, society, etc…)

Interestingly, studies (ijpor.oxfordjournals.org/content/12/3/259.short) have shown that when people believe that Homosexuals are BORN that way, they are more likely to SUPPORT gay “marriage”. And let’s not get into the gay couples raising kids… (again the scientific evidence is against it, and in favor of the traditional family [How different are the adult children of parents who have same-sex relationships? Findings from the New Family Structures Study - ScienceDirect]](http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0049089X12000610])).
Thanks!

This does present many issues for Christians - not because gay marriage will kill heterosexual marriage - we have already killed marriage ourselves. The real issue is explaining what marriage is to our children, and how people with service jobs are “protected” in conscience.

If I think gay marriage is a sham, can I still be forced to provide flowers to one, to photograph one? Can I be forced to rent a room at my bed and breakfast to a married gay couple? Can I express displeasure or revulsion in public at the idea of gay marriage?
Here in the UK people are already losing their jobs just for saying they don’t believe in “gay marriage”. And a few privately run hotels have been taken to court for refusing to give *any *unmarried couples, gay or straight, double beds!
Do you differentiate between heterosexual adultery, and homosexual adultery?
The UK government certainly does, since “adultery” will not be an acceptable reason for “gay divorce” when David Cameron railroads the law in.
IIf gay marriage is normal, your child will be a hateful bully at school if he says, innocently, that Bobby can’t have two daddies. Children will become confused as to gender roles if there really aren’t gender roles and everyone is absolutely the same. How can you help a boy grow up to be a man when a man has no unique characteristics or attributes or contributions to make to a relationship?
This is why I’m totally opposed to teaching kids “gay sex”, “gay marriage” and the dangerous ‘transgender’ myth (going into schools and telling little boys they can become girls and vice versa).
