Yes, I think that’s a fair assessment.I think Allen might be suggesting that there is a type of spiritual transformation involving Grace, where as thistle is stressing obedience through the law… This is interesting.
I’m looking at the kind of transformation Elisha’s servant experienced in 2 Kings
(sorry it’s NIV but I had it already formatted)
2 Kings 6:15-17:
And of course here’s what I think we should all want Jesus to tell us:When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Matt 13:16-17:
AlanBut blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
