A reassuring presence,
Between the sticks he stands,
So far no clangers has he dropped,
A most safe pair of hands.
He bawls at his defenders,
When they donāt give him cover,
Just like a hawk he watches them,
More closely than Big Brother.
You may remember Gordon Banks,
Ray Clemence, Pete Shilton,
But in my mind there is no doubt
That Pickfordās Number One.
When not on England duty,
Where does he ply his trade?
At Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Man U
Or some such famous name?
The boy donāt play for none of these,
No, there you are quite wrong.
He earns his corn on Merseyside,
He plays for Everton!

Perhaps this man will sway you a little .
After this interview he spent an hour on the pitch with the England fans , thanking them , singing with them , signing autographs .
There is something special about him .
He has got together a team , each member of which respects each other .
He respects all involved with the team , down to the cleaners who clean up the smelly changing rooms .
The team respect him .
The nation respects him .
āHe has not just guided England to a World Cup semi-final, but helped fans fall head over heels for his team tooā¦ā ( BBC sports correspondent ) .

That happens to me sometimes when my favorite team isnāt playing, but this year, if it couldnāt be Brazil, I want it to be France. But itāll be fun to watch no matter who wins!

Todayās winners are the Thai boysā football team and their coach who have been rescued , but above all the winners are those who put their lives at risk to rescue them and Saman Kunan the diver who gave his life in his attempts to recsue them .
May he rest in peace .
