i thought St. Paul taught Jesus Christ crucified?
( to that silly, why do you put Jesus back on the cross comment)

Not at all. Just as the Jews of the Old Covenant looked forward to Christ’s atonement, we now look back on it.
Well, wait. Jesus’ sacrifice was “finished” in 33 AD, right? So suppose that I sin today. Does Jesus need to die again to pay for that 2008 sin? No? Then how can I claim the benefit of a “finsihed” sacrifice? Only because the sacrifice is eternal. Jesus is our high priest forever! We have no need of the Jewish high priests who offered sacrifices year after year, because we now have one permanent, everlasting sacrifice.

What part of “it is finished” did you not understand.
Only because the sacrifice is eternal.
Then why isn’t Jesus still on the cross?

I would rather be wrong along with God’s word, than to be correct and abandon it.

I’ve quoted scripture constantly. You don’t like it so you ignore it.
More rhetoric. No reasoning or substance.

God bless you. It is time to sleep for me. I will pray for you and for myself that we may continue to grow in truth and holiness.

No doubt my more western Brothers and Sisters will continue to fight the good fight whilst I take the blessed repose of sleep.

Goodnight. 🙂

i really didn’t think my post would go that far.
someotherguy, read my first post. i hope it would explain something.

It’s either a cracker or a coaster.
I think you are trying to make us upset, but all you are doing is making me very, very sad for you. I will be saying extra prayers for you tonight, and I will be asking the saints to pray for you too.

Paul taught that Christ was crucified. Not that Christ is continually crucified.
either, you can’t comprehend what people are saying, you don’t want to hear it because your mind is made up, or you’re just trying to start a fight. maybe all three.
but calling Christ a cracker or a coaster is highly offensive.

i’m with ibkc. We have all tried to calmly explain this to you and I have PM you many scipture passages that support our belief. 😦

I certainly hope not. I would hate to think that you sinned on my account.

Actually, the scripture you PMd me doesn’t support your belief at all. You’re just reading your beliefs into it because you’ve been brainwashed.

CAN ANYONE HERE EXPLAIN WHY JESUS WOULD SAY TO EAT HIS FLESH AND DRINK HIS BLOOD IF HE DIDN"T MEAN IT???

None. I understood it quite well. Obviously you don’t, since you offer no answer to my question.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, too - he has no answer, so he has to deflect the question. 🙂

Insulting and ridiculing our love for Jesus. You think we’re going to listen to you now? You think we can feel the Holy Spirit convicting us through your purile insults? I feel so bad for you. A heart filled with Jesus’ love wouldn’t have room for this kind of material.
