Oh, so many things to comment now !!!

Eagelswings, when someone speaks about anthros, I think in sites like DA, FA, SA, and yes, some of the works shown there aren’t the best things in art or moral

I think that you can be better than some artist who draw in that style

Studying anatomy; Human, animal, etc

Study and practice are the best things to improve in art, so focus on the basics of fine art and next you can apply a style, and you can see how you improved

Check art forums, I don’t know if you have heard of conceptart.org, is a great site, but often they are very harsh with anime/manga/anthro artist, because some well known issues in the past, but, If someone shows the desire to become a great artist, they are nice with the new “students”

On another topic, someone here knows Spanish or Italian?

In the Spanish Catholic.net Forums, they are giving a free Latin Course, in Spanish and Italian, maybe that is of interest to some of you

And, sorry for my bad English!

Anthromorphs? is that, like, furries? or cat people?

I wouldn’t call them “furries”. People who seem to be totally obsessed with anthros give them that name and the name sounds silly anyway.

The picture is actually okay because it is an artistic political cartoon. For instance, notice how the artist depicts God as in God from that Renaissance painting.

Yours was just a tad bit… plain. No offense but that’s the other thing about Jack Chick that offends me. His simple-minded, childish approach to giving his message.

Regarding Jack Chick, I actually have tons of plot bunnies parodying his tracts but they’re probably a bit too… risque for you.

Well the difference between me and Mr. Chick is that he is anti-catholic and I’m a practicing catholic. Besides that sometimes it’s better to just get the point across. That is exactly what a pro-choice catholic says to Jesus is it not? “Hey I like your church but what I do is MY business and you have no right to tell me how to live my life!” It’s sad that people call themselves catholic but don’t follow the churches teachings. It’s just tradition to them.

I believe it’s called scrupulosity?
And yes, that need fixing not sharing. -_-;;

I own the special Limited Edition boxsets for Code Geass, so…I’m hiiiighly pleased with them, as well as the ton of extras. I mean, like, WOW

What peeves me is how they did R2. 7 episodes in 3 parts, with 4 episodes leftovver for a half-set part 4.

I wasn’t aware that it was Funimation, though…?

You’re right. It’s Bandai. What kind of extras do they have? Do tell…

You gotta find a better difference. You know, something that not only just Catholics can find pleasing. Here’s mine:

Jack and I are both Christians. We both acknowledge the gift of salvation God gave us. The only difference is, I know God also gave us a brain.

Anyways, the political cartoon you posted had a witty element which made it funny and not simply blunt (which was what your drawing was). On one hand, it had God as He was depicted in the famous painting of Michelangelo with the baby replacing Adam. On the other hand, you have a humorous cartoon of the “messiah” President Barack Obama acting in a typical, anti-God fashion that many people have associated with liberals (including liberals themselves). Don’t you see? There’s something in the drawing that would appeal to a great number of people. It has style. It has humor. You should learn from it.

Well, with all 3 parts. I have all of season 1, both oficially sound tracks, 3 discs of dubbed Sound episodes, dubbed Picture Dramas, CLAMP character design booklets, booklets containing Britannian history, character profiles, historical machinery and episode guides, CLAMP drawn comics, and 3 volumes of manga.

All for just over $100

Thanks everyone. You know it did cross my mind to do cartoons to counter Jack Chick’s but I feel I am better at defending the unborn than defending the church (although I should probably try to do so because it is Christ’s church).

That would be interesting as a series. I do have a couple of favorite anime-drawing books I rely on and will be glad to tell you the titles…

Does anyone here watch Japanese animation, aka anime? My favorite titles include: .hack//sign, any Miyazaki movie, Inuyasha, Trigun, and too many others.

Yes, I grew up with Japanese animation ~ it is probably a core part of my life I suppose.

One of the first I’d watched was Doraemon though ~ fit for the kiddies.

As I got other I shifted more towards ‘manga’ (Japanese comics) reading, and anime becomes an occasion.

Miyazaki Hayao’s animation are definitely recommended.

I don’t claim to be an expert on the scene but from what I gather,

• K-on has replaced Haruhi in moeblobness. (Mio Akiyama is the reigning queen of Moe)
  Dvd Sales has also been up
• Miyazaki’s Ponyo is also enjoying commercial success
• Senjougahara Hitagi from Bakemonogatari and her “Tore” appeal stealthily puts the show in the upper echelons of the rankings.
  (‘Tore’ being a coined term that is superior to ‘moe’) [Lower parts of 萌え (moe) is the same as 明る (akaru, bright) so Senjougahara thought 蕩れ (tore) from 見蕩れ (mitore, fascination) that has 湯 (yu, hot [water]) as a lower part is “superior” than moe. ]
