Yes, you have to practice while reading the books !!!

Is a important part of the learning process

God Bless You !!!

Drawing… oh and scrupulosity but that’s old now. Anybody in a mood for an anime-style short story that’s geared to a secular audience? Oh wait, I forgot a couple of moral purists here who might be reading this. :rolleyes:šŸ˜›
Geez. How many times are you gonna pull out the ā€œscrupulosityā€ card? So what if I said myself? You seem to use it against everything I say. Would you call me scrupulous if I said that catholics should not oppose abortion or homosexual unions? What if I said that it is wrong to listen to music that promote sex, violence and anti-christian beliefs? Would you still call me scrupulous? Gimme a break here.

I said old topic. You just love being uptight now don’t you? He asked, I answered. What is your problem?

P.S.

Comparing apples to oranges is a logical fallacy alongside forcing dichotomies and black-n-white thinking.

Hi !!!

EW, read the books from Andrew Loomis, Burne Hogarth and George Brandt Bridgman and , it would be better if you can find them in paper.

Here are some useful links, if you prefer checking things online:

Thanks but I don’t like Concept art. I don’t know how to use it and one of the last link had a naked man in it.

As many times as it takes to make you a white martyr. Smile and offer it up to God—he’s not going to give you a break.

We all might do better to ask what’s HIS problem.

God Bless and stand firm.

Back to drawing—as well as seeing things in terms of bulk and mass rather than outline, there’s a lot to be said for carrying a little sketchbook and drawing from life.

Trees, cars, rocks, people, doesn’t matter. Everything is made up of basic shapes like the cube, the cone, and the sphere.

Try it!

Thanks. What about drawing angles and poses though? Like for example, fight poses, as well as punches and kicks?

In drawing the human figure, nudes are used during class (not that I’ve taken one) that help students understand where the general anatomy is and how muscles are shaped without the draping, misleading fabric. Art students may take anatomy class as well for the same reason.

You know that the Sistine Chapel has nudes in it, right? In my opinion, there’s a difference between nudity used for educational purposes–like doctors and artists–rather than nudity to incite sexual pleasure.

You have to have a serious reason to go to a nude painting course, as opposed to the aim of getting to see nudes.

Still stupid in my opinion. Who in the right mind would want to be naked for a painting?

I think the depiction of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is ok but other than that the rest is just stupid.

That’s just how art works. If you can’t deal with it, then it’s not for you. Besides, ever tried drawing a the interior of a CPU without looking into a real one? Ever tried drawing a tank without reference? It’s the same thing.

Even in writing, I have been given similar advice: Write about things that are closest to your experience.

A photo of any of these would show you what any of those look like.

Same thing, there’s still a photo to be taken. There is still something that is seen.

In this case, be it a nude photo or nude person. Not much of a difference for the likes of Eagel you know.

Aaaanyways. Seeing as how I’ve finished my fantasy short story, I’m going to work on a fanfic I’ve been putting at the back of my head for a moment.

Though to be honest, it’s such a huge collage of ideas it’s probably too original to be a mere fanfic. I’d probably get some guts and say it’s a higher level than regular fanfics but maybe not arrogant enough to say it’s anything like derivative classics such as The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Anyways, seeing as I’m now fast forwarding to a more modern setting, I’ve decided to torture my lonely, emo self and watch some high school animes (romance in particular). I found a really cute one just now too. It’s called KimiKiss.

Sadly most other ones I know are rather uh, guy-oriented. >_>;; (Stuff like Love Hina, Tenjou Tenghe, Midori Days, Onegai Twins).

I’m thinking of reading the manga version of Fruits Basket but sometimes it gets too girly for me…

Then again, not like I’m recommending anything but just letting y’all know what I’ve been watching/reading in case anyone’s familiar.

On an interesting note, there’s something else I’ve been watching too for the sake of this fanfic: Mahou shoujo and tokusatsu. I won’t explain much but let’s just say both things have something in common and I plan to exploit it as a plot device. šŸ˜›

Excellent question.

That’s why I have a manikin–a little jointed figure you can pose as you wish. You could also use a jointed doll.

There’s a book called Sports in Art that I have as well. A LOT of action poses, and advice on rendering them.

I am dating myself, but my first exposure to anime was Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (the US title was Battle of the Planets). More recently I watched Gundam Wing. Dragonball Z, Tenchi Muyo!, Outlaw Star, and Initial D. But It has still been quite some time since I watched any.

Well, EW, if you want to know how to draw a human body, you have to study a human body.

This is a good reply

For action poses and similar, some years ago I wanted to know the answer, to have a shortcut or something, but there isn’t one, you have to study the body in motion.

If you want to have a style, you have to grasp the basics of anatomy

God Bless You !!!

I drew this last night.

I also drew this a while ago but I never finished it until last night.

P.S.: I tried to shrink the fox’s picture but it’s not going so well
