That’s friggin’ darling! LOL It’s better than what I can do.

I’d get the Z Warriors Unite (with the driving lessons one) DVD and the opening to the Cell Games episode (whichever DVD and/or saga, season, whatever they’re in. Those made me laugh most.

I think this has Garlic… or something.

I remember now. I wanted to see how a certain character ditched another certain character and ended up with yet a third certain character. 😛

It’s not online?

I didn’t mind the live-action version. It reminded me of B-comedy films of the '80s. The promo for Buddhism (well Buddhism-esque), in the temple training scene, could have been done without.

I despise live-action remakes with a white-hot passion that knows no bounds.

Online? I don’t know—if I like a series I want to own it.

There’s always Miro.com. They can’t be pulled from Youtube when saved there, though it’ up for debate as to the morality of commercial youtube videos or recording and/or replaying for others commercial programs not authorized to do so (if they played it for free, at this time, I don’t feel it’s bad to watch it later for free, but I won’t charge others to see it–not that I know how to record these shows in the first place). The video and probably audio quality is better on DVDs, of course.

My rule is this: if an anime is never going to be sold here commercially (such as the ORIGINAL Japanese Little House–if that’s the name of that old Biblical anime) I’ll watch some on YouTube or whatever—if it’s available, I’ll buy it.

I don’t go to movies; I figure this is the one form of entertainment I actually do allow myself (if you don’t count reading).

I drew this guy on an index card. I don’t know why but I just love drawing manga.

Did you ever see any of those How To Draw Manga books? I have a couple and they’re really useful.

No. I just take images from the web and use them as references.

I have a hard time drawing hands as you can see. Other than that how does it look? Can you tell the details apart?

I can tell he’s wearing a hoodie over a regular shirt.

THe only way to get comfortable drawing hands is practice and simplify. I once spent a whole summer drawing only hands and they still give me trouble.

Thanks. Yeah the hands always get me. I can do fists ok but other than that it’s pretty hard.

I based him off a character from a game called “[Prototype]”. I never played the game but I watched one video of it. I have to say it looks like just another GTA where you go around killing innocent people. doubt I would ever play it. I only used the guys outfit as a reference. I often take things for references but there are things I would not even touch with a 5-foot pole. I even wonder if I should have used this game’s charcter as a reference. At least this guy is not a mass murderer like Prototype’s main character Alex Weber.

A’ight guys, enlighten me here. What’s happening recently in this thread? 😃

Drawing hands.

EW—I was taught to see and draw not outlines [where you will always run into trouble] but to see and draw in ‘mass and bulk’.

I was also taught construct figures from the bones out. Then flesh them, and only then clothe them. sometimes I forget -_-;

Basically you see the head as an egg shape and then sketch in guidelines for placement of features (including ears)—you construct a simplified ‘skeleton’ where you don’t actually draw every bone, then you flesh it out, learning where muscles go and how they deform when a figure moves.

Lastly, you sketch in the clothes and pay attention to how different fabrics drape. I always have trouble with fabrics, too.

Hi !!!

EW, read the books from Andrew Loomis, Burne Hogarth and George Brandt Bridgman and , it would be better if you can find them in paper.

Here are some useful links, if you prefer checking things online:

Andrew Loomis!? I have his Creative Illustration! Excellent book.

The problem is, you can ‘know’ all these techniques, but unless you practice, you won’t ‘get’ it.
