As I said before it is nonsense to claim that God confuse time of Moses and Jesus. Is there any thing about Moses in the verses? No. So why do you think that in that way? Because of similarity of names?

Though if we think Muhammad had taken from Bible yet it is not acceptable argument for Qur’an if we consider all facts of Qur’an.
We know that the Virgin Mary had no brothers or sisters. Mary’s parents Saint Anne and Joachim were childless until Angels appeared to both Joachim and Anne to promise them a child ( Virgin Mary )

In the quran 19:16-30 is “The story of Mary” and of Jesus but in 19:28 Aaron is the sister of Mary. So heres what we know and are the facts…

Moses father is named Amram/“Imran”
Moses has a brother named Aaron
Moses has a sister named Miriam/ “Mary”?

The Blessed Virgin Mary
Mary father is named Joachim
Mary has no brothers or sisters

the quran says Mary’s brother is Aaron( 19:28) and also the father of Mary is named Imran ( 16:22 )

Was muhammad confused?

I use which all Christians do.
So it is established
  1. no official Bible for you but a vague reply.
2.It doesn’t answer why you skip verses that Jesus talks.
  1. There’s no way to know which Bible your Imam uses. It is clear you are clueless.
Peace be with you.

Jimmy:

When the Qur’an has “sister of Aaron” it’s referring to her progeny … She was from a Levite descent… not that Aaron was her brother. “In ancient Semitic usage a person’s name was often linked with that of a renowned ancestor or founder of the tribal line.” Mary’s cousin Elisabeth the wife of Zachariah was spoken of as “of the daughters of Aaron”…See Luke i, 5.

No. She’s descendant of David. Therefore Judah. When Mary is mentioned the first time it is "throne " of David when it comes to Jesus.

19:28 talks about sister, brother, father, mother. Using “progeny” just doesn’t fit

Hi, Hasantas! Peace be with you! Well, there are many Bible translations available which do convey a common Message ( I personally favor the English Standard Version of my Lutheran Study Bible, which is the preferred Bible of my denomination). There is also the King James Version, the New King James Version, the Revised Standard Version, the New Revised Standard Version, the American Standard Version, the New American Bible, etc., here is a site that includes a list of English translations and their text: biblehub.com/. There are many Bibles out there and I only point to the variety of English translations. God only knows how many other translations in other languages there are out there. It’s definitely a best seller!

Qur’an is the book which is most being red. Espesially in nowadays of Ramadan Qur’an is being red in Mosques and homes. In Mosques Hafizs read and other Muslims listen to Qur’an. In Ramadan many Muslim try to read whole Qur’an in Ramadan. That is at least 20 pages per day. Here the fruit is that: People do not read but Qur’an make them to read. I mean it is charm of Qur’an which make people to read. That fascinating of Qur’an is sourced from pure revelation from God. Qur’an(pure words of God) foster moral heart and the mind. And it is also a bit musical. Qur’an teach how to pray and worship. Qur’an teach the moral laws. Qur’an teach or point all sciences. A child can memorize the whole Qur’an. etc. etc. And all those make Qur’an miraculous. Is there any book equal to Qur’an?
I googled the most read books & here are the top 10 results.

By the way - the Quran is not in there.

Quote: “The most read book in the world is the Bible.”

Jimmy:

Define the word “progeny”.

“a person who comes from a particular parent or family : the child or **descendant of someone”
**
merriam-webster.com/dictionary/progenyrticle

Since Mary was Elizabeth’s cousin she was also related to her. For more information consider the article:

*“Thus, Mary and Elizabeth may have been first cousins, or they may have been fourth cousins. All we know for sure is that they were kin.”

Source:

apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=11&article=2532

*Hence Elizabeth in Luke 1:5 refers to her as "of the daughters of Aaron".

So when the Qur’anic verse has

27* Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing.

28 O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother a harlot.*
Code:
(The Qur'an (Pickthall tr), Sura 19 - Mary)
The reference is to her descent.

We are talking about Mary not Elizabeth. This is deviation by Islam.

Is Elizabeth mentioned at all in the Quran when it is Mary being called Daughter of Aaron? Yes or no?

Plus Eric Lyon will also say Jesus is God. So how can you use him as a reliable source for supporting the Quran?

And finally most important Elizabeth calls Mary the Mother of my Lord. Islam rejects this point blank .

I must correct myself “Sister of Aaron” is the quranic verse not Daughter. Which in itself bit odd as Aaron became priest his line cannot be his Sister!

I must add the Webster dictionary is not a holy book. Why use it.

The big problem is that the quran is explicitely not talking about wider clan relationships as we see in the following verse.
quran 3:35-36
"when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service],…But when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, I have delivered a female… … And I have named her Mary…”

If Mary is the female child that came out of the womb of the wife of Imran, then she is the direct daughter of Imran and there is no question that the theory of “far descendancy” is contradicted by the Qur’an itself.

The quran also gives the name to Mary’s father. In quran 66:12, Mary is identified as the daughter of Imran. “Mary” is Aaron’s sister, and the daughter of Imran.

Is “sister” in the quran is ever used metaphorically when speaking of relationships between people.

Furthermore…
Martin made a very good point and I’ll like to elaborate a little ( I hope you don’t mind Martin )

arthra, If we look at all of Luke 1:5 which you left out…
“In the days of Herod, King of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the priestly division of Abijah; his wife was from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth”

What I’ll like to point out is in Luke 1:5 it says “his wife was from the daughters of Aaron” and in the quran 19:28 “O sister of Aaron”
In Luke it indicates being “was from” and the quran being “sister of”

This talks about Elizabeth only ( as Martin has mentioned ) Since they are cousins which side of Elizabeth’s family does it give the relation to Aaron? It only indicates Elizabeth as being from the daughters of Aaron.

Martin asked the question if Elizabeth was mention at all in the quran?..and I really don’t think she is.

In addition to my earlier post you can find more material on this subject of the reference to Mary as “sister of Aaron” at

islamic-awareness.org/Quran/Contrad/External/mary.html

In the Bible the use of sisterhood:

SISTER
sis’-ter ('achoth):
Used repeatedly in the Old Testament of a female
(1) having the same parents as another; or
(2) having one parent in common, with another, half-sister (Genesis 20:12; Leviticus 18:9), and also
(3) of a female belonging to the same family or clan as another, so a kinswoman (Genesis 24:60; Job 42:11);
(4) also of a woman of the same country (Numbers 25:18).

Islamic awareness has no business going to Luke and jumping to the verse Luke 1:36. This is not exegesis but picking and choosing. It is pointless. As the context is Mary and her virginity and yet to her choice if she allows Gods calling to give birth to Jesus Son of the Most High.
