Hello Good people,
Thats very interesting discussion for me really.
Whatever the name of God or god ( There are no caps in semetic languages ) , muslims do worship the God that Abraham worshipped.
Yes yes… The one that crated adam from Clay , Noah , Abraham , Ishmael , Isaac, moses etc…
Now yes we think he did different things… his nature is different from Christian understanding of God… but when i raise my hands and head to pray. It is the God of Abraham that i am refering too.
Am i worshipping a different God than you are worshipping? A simle yes or a simple no .
I appreciate your reply .
Thanks
Yes.
You are not only worshiping a different god than I, but a different God than Abraham worshiped. You do not understand that Muhammad was a false prohpet which Scripture warns of teaching false and Contrary gospels to that which we had recieved 600 years before he was born.
Just because Muhammad
claimsdoes not in any way make it so. In fact, the claim is demonstrably false.
Long before Muhammad was born, God Himself, the second person of the Blessed Trinity, Jesus Christ, became incarnate and dwelt amoung us. This does not mean that Jesus was created, for God cannot be created. He is of one being with the Father. God is a Trinity. This infallible Truth was revealed directly by God Himself to the Church which He founded long before Muhammad was born.
Now when Abraham worshiped God, certain facts about His divine nature were unkown to him at that point. God was **ALWAYS ** a Trinity from all eternity. Therefore, in not merely realising what had not yet bee revealed about the divine nature, Abraham worshiped God as He revealed Himself.
Therefore, Abraham did not reject God in not understanding that God is a Trinity, as it had not been revealed to him at that point. If however, God did reveal that He was a Trinity to Abraham, and Abraham rejected Him as a Trinity (Which he did not), though claiming to worship God as He was revealed before, it is clear that he would have been rejecting God
completely - for you cannot worship one part of God and reject the other.
Luke 10:16 - “He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that despiseth you, despiseth me; and he that despiseth me, despiseth him that sent me.”
John 6:44 - “No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him; and I will raise him up in the last day.”
It is also clear that the God of Abraham is a Trinity, as from all eternity. No one therefore, since God has revelealed Himself as a Trinity can claim to worship Him as God, and yet reject the two ther divine persons in Him. It cannot be done. Christ explains:
John 14:6 - “Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”
It is beyond dispute therefore. No one can worship God BUT through Jesus Christ.
In short, if one reject the Trinity, he rejects the God of Abraham. Muslims therefore do not worship the God of Abraham.
The confusion arises since Muhammad
claimed that his god was Abraham’s, in order to try and give his new religion some credibility. However, this is not the Case. God said many things and teaches many things which completely go against and contradict what Muhammad*** claimed*** that his god told him.
Islam calls a blasphemy what God has revealed; namely that Jesus Christ is God. Thus, they no more worship the God of Abraham (the Trinity) than does any other pagan sect who would likewise claim.
This is the Truth which I tell you in charity, for the sake of your salvation.
