It’s different because I would not attend a false church as you have discribed. Alcohol is a sin to those who are weak in the flesh. Any one who drinks in front of an alcoholic, is sinning by causing that brother to fall. So if you are having a drink in private and see nothing wrong, it is one thing, but I preach on the square on Fridays to the drunks of our town. Can you guess how many of the people we talk to are catholics who say they are saved through the church even though they can’t even walk straight from the gross amount of alcohol they have consumed. They have no intention of attending church on any sort of regular basis, but they are told they can work out their salvation, so that’s what they think they are doing. As long as they don’t kill anyone, they are fine. This is the real version of catholics. Most of them attend church on Christmas and Easter yet defend their faith as true and they are on their way to hell with a warm fuzzy feeling in their heart that catholics are the true church.
