hose who are persuaded that His Holiness is bent on destroying the Church will wave this book around as a new Gospel. No surprises here.

Me, I read it, fact checked the assertions as best as possible, and will keep my opinions to myself. I will not accuse the author of an agenda until proven otherwise.
" Until proven otherwise," there is a space available for an ad to a book that states he is tyrannical, the most tyrannical and unprincipled Pope, and chosing corruption and manipulative and the list goes on.
Disgraceful and low way to dirt the name of a person .
And still this writer or this group of anonymous writers under a pseudonym, get your credit" until proven otherwise".
Do you call hearsay and anonymity information?
I call it trash and a bunch of cowards and gossipers who have nothing better to do than to feed people on the worst of humanity.
Do not count on me for propaganda about this book.
This is just a means for cheap publicity and it stinks.
No more posts for me here. Not a cent .
This is toxic.

Unfortunately there is controversy surrounding this pope, but please know that the Church has survived many controversies in 2000 years and is still holding to the same teachings handed down from the apostles. She’s not about to change now. Perhaps if you read a history of the Church it would help you get some perspective. I read Triumph: The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church and it certainly helped me realize that if the Church could survive through so many scandals that the Holy Spirit must be guiding her. Don’t lose heart. Jesus warned us of troubling times, and remember that our duty is to pray for the pope and our priests and bishops who are in the trenches. They have it tougher than we have.

How do you know it is not true?
Perhaps the Catechicm makes a more useful read. The criteria to avoid slander is not that one cannot prove that something is not true, which anyone with commons sense can tell you is not usual possible. The criteria is that one cannot say that which is not known to be true.

Does the book/author follow the guidelines I laid out in my post 72?
Perhaps you could read the book and then, being fully informed on the subject matter, apply the principles you outlined to the author?
Feed the troll, with money? There is a reason to write a name under a pseudonym. I get that, though I know of no reason that applies to non-fiction. All people do have the right to their good name. That does not apply, however, to fictional names. Anyone who makes outlandish claims from the shadows should not be lightly believed. With the title he gave, this has to be either a money grab or a type of preaching to the faithful, that is, selling sensational negativity to those who are already sensationally negative toward the Holy Father.

Love them or hate them, I think they represent a new kind of leader I think we need more of, regardless of whether they are liberal or conservative. I hope we see more leaders who are not mainstream, who speak their minds with shocking honesty and who have the back of the little people. I completely disagree with Bernie Sanders on everything, but I do respect him as being one of those people.
I was of two minds with this until I saw the last sentence. I get your point. Maybe you are right, but in any case, it was an insightful thought.

For example, does the author show the “Argentine influence” in a favorable light, showing Pope Francis’ dedication to the Gospel?
I am guessing since he wants to play at anonymity, and he chose the pseudonym of an Italian aristocrat, there may be a prejudice against all things non-Italian. We are not that far removed from Italian domination of the papacy and Pope Francis did a lot of internal cleansing of corruption that lingered from this domination. Interesting that this particular problem was one that Pope Benedict wanted to address, saw as a problem in the Vatican, and resigned to let one strong enough to address it take over.

I said earlier that I would bet a month’s paycheck that if this pseudo-author is revealed, he will be shown to have a reason to want to hurt the Pope. I will now guess the reason will have something to do with this issue. It is, after all, the only way in which the Pope could possibly be seen as as dictator. He is the dead opposite when it comes to running the universal Church.

Easy…the focus is not on Christ, the orientations/looking directions/gazes of this jumble of figures and activists are varied not centering on Our Lord.

The eye should be drawn calmly to Christ, not encouraged to jitter around.

Bad art, cobbled together with activism.

Be honest, was your eye immediately taken to Jesus…or did you have trouble even finding Him!

Wow, I never heard of this book, but the reviews sound foreboding on amazon. Has anyone read the book? What are the main points of it?

Is Pope Francis dictatorial in any way? What is up with the title?

Perhaps it isn’t the most honorable way of going about. Nevertheless, the work is heavily footnoted. The claims made aren’t outlandish or sensational. Many of the claims aren’t even new to those of us who have been following the trad blogs.

So this is why pnewton takes such great care to avoid slandering or casting aspersions on an author who may well know that he has written the truth.

Art should reinforce a presence of God.

My point about the gaze wasn’t an artistic criticism it was a criticism that the display doesn’t encourage a presence of God, as a Nativity scene would reasonably be expected to do.

A well thought out Church should have an “orientation”…toward Jesus in the Tabernacle or the Crucifix. That’s why Cruciform Churches are preferred.

Saying slander is slander is slander? Nice try. So, you can tell me, to see if you are right, who wrote this book? I know who Pope Francis is. When he chose his name, we knew who he was. So who is this man?

A basic understanding of burden of proof is that outlandish accusations require the burden of proof. Nothing is required to denounce them. As soon as this anonymous person who makes such claims reveals himself, I will look into it.

What do we call one who uses anonymity to post post scathing provocative statements on the internet? Yet I have never heard anyone claim that point out a troll is trolling is itself trolling.

If you don’t really know, then yes.
Nice try. So, you can tell me, to see if you are right, who wrote this book? I know who Pope Francis is. When he chose his name, we knew who he was. So who is this man?
You missed the rest of my post. Who was slandered? One cannot slander a fictional character, for example. Was this book the work of Satan (he is the accuser of the brethren, after all.)? An artificial intelligence? Until someone coughs up the name, there is no evidence of what you are claiming. This may seem crazy, but no so than the claims made in this book.

You haven’t yet addressed the fact that the vast majority of the claims made in the text are supported by verifiable footnotes.
Let me repeat. I will not give a penny to this person, if it is a person, any more than I would buy from a Satanist book sale. The points presented here that I can see for free, are not supportable. Take the claim to have a degree from Oxford. Footnoting that would be a good start, so the name and actual degree earned can be verified. I guess Marcantonio Colonna could have attended Oxford as it was operational in the Sixteenth Century.

Logically, I cannot for the life of me picture what possible evidence could even exist for these claims. Voice transcripts from the last conclave?

Thank you for the article, I had no idea some of these things were going on. I knew in general about the council on the family and the dubia by Cardinal Burke.

I went to see the Pope when he came to South Korea to canonize the martyrs, and I totally respect the chair of Peter, but some of things pointed out in the book need to change.

The shocking thing was the papal attendance drop, that there is less and less people coming to hear the Pope.

Just wondering, who are some strong contenders for the next Pope? The Holy Spirit chooses, but who are some likely candidates?
