I find this whole scenario terrifying.

I find daily life terrifying half the time, that is if I don’t follow St. Padre Pio’s good advice (and St. Teresa of Avila’s who also had anxiety, was sometimes in physical danger, and said the same thing).

Seriously, America’s been supposedly about to “break” so many times in the last 4 years already that I’m in Yeah - Whatever mode. A bunch of my friends thought we would collapse into anarchy if Trump were even inaugurated. As I predicted at the time, Absolutely Nothing Happened, except that the President continued to be unpopular with half the country. Let us say our prayers and trust in God that Absolutely Nothing Will Happen this time, except that whatever the election result is, half the country will be upset about it.

If they can divide us by race, the battle will continue.
If people from rural and suburban areas Don’t wake up and see it is inner city people of color who the rioters are harming most ( not accidentally, in my view) And if inner city people of color wake up and realize that it is 50 years of Democrat rule in the cities that allows and encourages this, then there is a chance for this to stop.

No. We can discuss the fact that Nixon was instrumental in getting civil rights legislation through Congress against Democrat opposition. We can discuss Ike sending troops to Little Rock against Democrat opposition to protect blacks as Trump should do in Portland snd Chicago.
We can discuss 59 years of progressive Democrat mayors providing terrible schools in our inner cities (keeping blacks poorly educated is historically Democrat), allowing decades of crime in parts (not their own neighborhoods, of course) of their cities.

We can talk about the fact that only one American political party has had party platforms with segregation and discrimination in them. Democrats.

Sure, some Republicans have been egregious in the racial views and they are to be condemned. One cannot believe in individual rights on the one hand and be a bigot on the other.

Anyone who can’t recognize that is accepting the false narrative of one or both.
