The Election That Could Break America

The wrong side won the War Between the States.

American slavery was an evil institution, but economics and social pressure were already eliminating it. On the other hand, the idea that Union victory meant that the federal government could never be opposed and would always be supreme. This has inevitably led us to this point, where the system itself prevents any possible repair of the system, and the eventual collapse will cause more destruction and harm than slavery ever did.

Contradictory statement.

This is certainly a consequence of the Democrats abusing the constitutional principle of states rights to maintain denial of individual rights.

Article 5 still exists, but the disturbing trend to dismantle the republic and turn it into a majoritarian centralized state continues with the attacks of the electoral college and the senate.

JonNC:
it is 50 years of Democrat rule in the cities that allows and encourages this,
Not to worry, they’re moving into the suburbs now.
Goes to show the blackshirts really don’t care about color. Authoritarianism is the goal.

So what about the swamp? Is it drained yet?
No. They fought back from the election forward to undermine the president. Three years of lies about Russia and Ukraine made the effort difficult. The more power in Washington, the worse it gets.
Was that part of making America great again or does it have to wait until we keep America great?
Maybe a second term will have a better opportunity. Biden, however, would make the swamp grow.

Then I suggest putting borders around each state and dissolve the federal government altogether. If nothing else it will confuse our adversaries. They wouldn’t know where to fly their 757’s. As it stands the US is still vulnerable to attacks.

Cry me a river. Perhaps if voters want their votes to count, they can expect to have to follow the rules.

Voting in person is not hard.

Looking how to use proper postage and mail something by a certain date is not hard.

Look how and where to sign your ballot like a big boy is not hard.

You make it sound like ballots are being thrown out for no reason; they are being thrown out when they violate election rules. And in the last two weeks, 3 states (that I can recall, could be more) have loosened guidelines for accepting ballots. So what are you talking about?

Any other one-off anomalous examples you want to cite? Adults with a rare form of rickets, perhaps? Does the existence of such problems justify following the local and state laws, or not?

The headline maybe goes a little far. But there is something there.

Think they’re realizing what a huge problem mail-in voting could be for them. I advised a week ago that no one should trust the Post Office with their ballots, now we’re seeing a few Democrats say the same thing.

They are just ridiculous. Like chickens with their heads cut off, running amuck

I am fiercely anti-abortion, but I care deeply about far more than a single issue, as I believe my savior did.
Voting for Infanticide is a bridge too far for me and some Democrats have expressed support of this. It’s really the next thing.

If the little nipper survives abortion, give them a break, let them live!

And this doesn’t address the demographics of abortion which I think are racist.

I will seek to follow the Vatican

Do you also care about people who are alive and suffering? What do you think should be done for them?

As entrenched as the swamp is, it will take quite some time to rid the swamp of it’s creatures. I do not want to mess with the constitution, but I think it is time for term limits for those old codgers who have been there so long and have done nothing else but be in government.

All Mr. Trump wants is an HONEST election. He has every right to expect that, and so do we voters.
Out of curiosity, what evidence would be necessary to convince you the election is not honest?

I think the fear many people have is that the only evidence necessary will be Trump’s word. He’s made comments about “millions” of fraudulent votes in an election he won (without any evidence, of course), so there is reason to be afraid of what he might declare in a election he doesn’t win.

We live in a time when a lot of people confuse evidence with “what my favorite politician tells me.” That’s not a good thing.

Discoveries of ballots that have been dumped, and most of them for Mr. Trump. It may just be carelessness, but it has happened in several places now, and that leads me to believe there’s some intent behind it. Some of those dumped ballots have been found in the trash, some in a river, and so on. I think that’s plenty of evidence that this may not be an honest election.
