The end times are coming

Yeah. A couple of thoughts…

Don’t be in a hurry. Yes these are the end times, but the end times began with the Fall of Man. The Corinthians thought it an imminent event thousands of years after the Fall, following the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of the Lord.

It will come when it comes, on God’s timeline, not ours - and only the Father knows when.

In the meantime, instead of worrying about the hour and date, and whether it is imminent or way in the future, we should live each day with the themes of the two great penitential seasons of the Church’s liturgical year: Advent and Lent - “Be prepared”, and “Repent and believe in the Gospel”.

Doing such ourselves, and aiding other to do the same will resolve any worries we might have about the end of the age…besides, the end is not just an end, but a begin of a never ending period of great joy for those in a state of grace when the time comes.

That was an incredibly rude, harsh, inappropriate comment made towards you.

I sympathize with you and believe you may be onto something.

No. He /she said in the OP that “God and the Holy Spirit have been telling me that the end time is coming very soon,” which is theologically impossible. So, seeing whatever is telling him/her such things isn’t God, I recommended that he/she seek professional counseling. That was neither rude nor harsh.
 
I just worded it badly. See my earlier corrected post on this. They have reason to poke a little fun at me. I realize I made a fool of myself and I will be deleting this post as soon as I can get on a computer.

Jesus said, “you know neither the day nor the hour,” while OP says the end is coming within the next 50 years. The OP even admitted that he/she doesn’t have much knowledge on the subject. Occam’s razor…

Jesus also said you WOULD know the times and season.

A lot of people feel it’s quite possibly the season - myself included.

@Ncors this wasn’t stupid. Be courageous in what you believe - don’t back down because someone bullies you.

Why? Worse stuff has happened throughout history than what’s going on today.
 
Telling him tersely “see a shrink” because of his religious belief could easily be construed as bullying.

You know a lot of atheists would tell you the same thing just for praying, right?

In the next 50 years? I might still be alive then. Your theory would have me be special. I instinctively reject any notions which result in me being special in any way. I think it is soon, but maybe 100 years? Or 200? Enough time for me to be buried and forgotten.

Don’t be afraid, brother. You are trying to prophesy because you are afriad. Be still. Calm yourself. Stop looking at signs. You and I are simple folk. We are dust, and to dust shall we return. Ordinary pots.

Don’t see a shrink. Just be calm. Let your soul rest. The big things are not for us little ones. The end does not need our permission to come. Live a simple life. Do penance. Pray. Recieve communion with our Lord, and confess your sins. Ask God to send you humiliation. Pick one vice and work to eliminate it. Pick one virtue and work to build it up.

Do the peasants dare to sit on the throne, wear the crown, cast judgement? No! We keep our heads low. Our eyes on the ground in front of our feet lest we stumble. Leave the great events to the great men.

All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
 
Dude chill it’s the internet much worse stuff can happen. Thank you for standing up for me.
