It’s interesting to speculate what the “mark of the beast” may or may not be. I believe that we can safely say that it is not some sort of “spiritual” mark as it is written in Revelations that no one can buy nor sell anything without the mark.
Years ago as computers were coming of age in the business arena, world bankers held meetings in order to determine a methodology for the identification of products using computers. The result of their meetings became known as the UPC code. It’s an interesting code as it identifies a product from the source country (United States is “0”), product category and type, to exactly what it is. Aside from the source country which is a single digit found to the left of the UPC code, the product is identified using two groupings of numbers separated by delimiters. So in essence you have a starting delimiter, first number identification group, a separation delimiter, second number identification group followed by the closing delimiter.
The idea behind the UPC code is simple yet remarkable as businesses can identify every product made in the world, accomplishing this by two number series separated by delimiters. The only difficult decision necessary was what should the delimiter be. Because only the digits 0 thru 9 could be used, it had to be one of those ten numbers. They chose the number six, yes “6”. If you look at any UPC code, compare the number 6 in a group number series to the delimiter. They are identical. Hence, we have the UPC code make-up delimited by “666”. That is a fact. When Christian heard of “6” being used as the UPC delimiter, they expressed outrage at the world bankers. When the question “why 6?” was put to them, their response was that it was a random choice.
Revelations is so wonderful in it’s accuracy! Imagine someone reading years ago that a person could not buy or sell anything without the number “666”. Not possible! Well, each one of us buy and sells goods each and every day using the number “666” and many are not even aware of it!
The only thing that remains is for the UPC code to be applied to human beings. That’s not far off! Banks (credit companies) have been dealing with credit card theft costing billions each year. That’s not to mention the cost in periodically replacing cards when they are lost, stolen, or just plain wear out. Replacement cards also cost billions. In recent years, the industry has been looking several methods of applying UPC numbers to people. As early as the 90’s, they were looking into tattoos made readable through infra-red light (scanners). Curiously, one proponent suggested the “mark” be applied to the backs of hands. When someone quipped “what if the person has no hands?” The response was; “we can use their foreheads.” Recently, we have heard about the use of micro-chips, no matter though. Whether a tattoo or a micro-chip, the id number will be a UPC code with the “product category” being “person” and it will be delimited by the numbers “666”. That code will become your new social security number, your bank account number, everything all rolled into one! Imagine, no more cards and the only price you’ll have to pay is possession of your soul!!!
