What Lutherans believe concerning the Eucharist is something that you need to ask a particular Lutheran. Lutherans follow Sola Scriptura and believe in private interpretation of Scripture. Therefore, they generally follow their own opinions.I hope someone can help me but I am looking for a little insight as to exactly what Lutherans (and other protestant religions I suppose) exactly believe in regards to their communion/Eucharist service? And I guess as a follow up what is the truth regarding this?
Thanks
Some Lutherans have told me it was symbolic.
Some have told me that they believe in the Real Presence, but they don’t believe in Transubstantiation. They believe the bread and wine remain in the Sacrament.
If you want to know what the Church leaders officially claim that Lutheranism teaches on the Eucharist, you might want to read the Book of Concord.
