I’m dedicating this post in memory of my dear GRANDFATHER, Anthony Manno, whom I have thought about every day since god took him 10 years ago…

Enternal rest grant unto him O, Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him…May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the Mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen

Your Grandfather will be in my prayers.
May Christ be your strength and peace.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

In memory of my father who passed Feb 15 08. I will always remember sitting by his side has he accepted Jesus. He was anointed and even though he had been non responsive. He cried when the priest said, “Your sins our forgiven” Not everyone has such a happy death. I thank God everyday for the blessing and grace he poured out on our family during his passing. “Dealing With Loss” God, grant me comfort in knowing that one dear to me now has an understanding of you that I cannot even imagine. Help me to deal with my sorrow by seeing my loss as another’s fulfillment of joy and peace. Help me be grateful for the time we shared together and to rejoice in the memories. AMEN!

I pray for my friends and family in Purgatory every day, but I stopped grieving for them when I realized they were much better off than I was. They are assured of heaven, they no longer sin, and they get a little closer to God every day. I, on the other hand, am still piling up venial sins by the truckload every day that will have to be burned off in Purgatory. I don’t think I can go to enough Masses, say enough prayers, or perform enough works of mercy to work off my debt before I die, so it’s going to be a long, slow burn in Purgatory for me!

Frankly, I’m a little jealous of those who only have a short time left in purgation. (Oops, jealous is another sin on my soul, another millenium in the fire pit!) Since they don’t have to worry about committing new sins or backsliding into old ones, I’d say the souls in Purgatory are definitely better off than those of us still fighting the battle…

Just a couple of remarks:
Indulgences! They are great! Use them! Have masses said for yourself, too.
Pray, pray, pray for those souls in purgatory. They’ll be your friends praying for you when you need them!

I recently learned that our best behavioral assistant for my autistic sister died this past Friday. She was only 34. Please pray for her.

My Husband of 30 years died 12th July 2008 from lung cancer. I miss him dreadfully and will always love him dearly. I thank God he did not suffer and went to be with Jesus quietly and quickly, with out pain. God Bless everyone my prayers are with you all.
God grant all who mourn thy peace. Amen

In anticipation of All Souls Day, may God in his infinite mercy and love embrace the suffering souls and take them to their Eternal Reward.
Prayers and blessings upon them
Deacon Ed B
