Grant, O Lord, eternal rest to the faithful departed. I offer special prayers for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, who either have too few to pray for them…or no one at all. :gopray: :gopray2: :crossrc: :byzsoc:

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.”

Growing up on the West Coast, I had a lot of friends who belonged to absolutely no religion at all. God, religion, prayer services of any kind were seen as the last vestiges of an obsolete, pre-scientific era. Most of their parents had moved to California to be “free” of that kind of “oppression” and were raising their children to be freethinkers. They just ended up being atheists or agnostics who were baffled by my practice of Catholicism. (“Why does a smart girl like you believe in that nonsense?”) These were intelligent, well educated, upper middle class people who started out with more social advantages than I did. Many of them died before they were forty from AIDS, drug use, or drunk driving. Three who were making lots of $$$ committed suicide; another two have been missing for years.
I would like everyone here to pray for their souls because they were not raised to believe in God and did not know how to find Him when they were in trouble. Pray also for their parents who thought they were setting their children free, but ended up crippling them spiritually by denying them the joy of knowing God. Whatever you faith, thank God every day for it, and please pray for those who never experienced it in this life.
 
May God have mercy on the souls of all of those brothers and sisters misguided away from the Truth, and receive them into the Glory of His Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.:highprayer:

Thinking and Praying for my Beloved Father Jean-Claude who passed away three years ago on December 20th, 2007. My family celebrated his beautiful Requiem Funeral Mass on December 24th, 2007. Both sad but also joyful.

Dad; thinking out you very fondly during this blessed holy tide of the Christmas Season and always. I love you Dad.

I saw the very same thing happen in families that the mother died…no one raised them to be that way…just the loss of a mother made them go way off track. We do need to pray for them all and we will.

Praying for God’s mercy on all the souls mentioned here, and for the repose of the souls of Marge MacLeod (Dec 22, 2010), of Mary Pascucci (Dec 21, 2010), and of my dear dad, Alfred J Giddings (Mar 12, 2010).

P.S. Thank you for sharing these prayers in French. I took French in high school (about 25 1/2 years ago!). Between that and my Spanish (some similarity to French). I hope to understand them, and maybe pray them in French too!

I’d like to post in memory of my six siblings. They were called to be with Our Lord before they were born. I’d also like to post in memory of my friend, Jillian, and my grandfather, Ralph. May Our Lord be with all of them and the faithful departed.
