LOL! Really? Serious? So those tangibles were tangibles but strictly symbols? Uhhhhh…what was passed from the people to the sacrificed lamb before being consumed? Hhmmm? So eating symbols produces an effect? Really? So eating cookie cut-outs of carrots will help my vision to improve? So carrots are tangilbes but they are only symbolic and yet improve our vision?

The Seder Lamb was a FORESHADOWING of the Son of God who is “THE” SACRIFICIAL LAMB and NOTHING is SYMBOLIC!

First of all, NO WHERE does Jesus claim it is symbolic…NO WHERE!

Second, you have not not produced a SINGLE shred of evidence the early taught a symbolic Eucharist, on the contrary, the early church has VOLUMES of writings defending the Real Presence.

Strike two for you!

ONE MORE TIME…why would God tell the Jews to consume a tangible sacrificed lamb and yet send His Son the Lamb of God, who was sacrificed at Calvary (Flesh,Blood,Soul,Divinity) and teach His Son to teach the disciples He is merely a symbolic Lamb? The perfect Lamb who is the fulfillment of the Seder/Passover Lamb? That makes absolutely no sense or has any logic or reason behind! That is what happens when you follow the teachings of false men like Joey and reject God’s ORTHODOX teachings.

Third, LEARN what types are the in the Bible before believing such foolishness as a symbolic Eucharist. Here I’ll let you on something…everything in the NT is BETTER than the OT (i.e.,…the Seder Meal into the New Passover meal).

So I clicked on the link Math provided and was laughing. Really? You are going to post a link to muslim and atheist sites? How about doing your own research and giving us from your own work these contradictions. It would make you look like your at least trying to prove your point. All you have is your testimony, nothing more. You have failed to provide any evidence to support your claim about your church and you have picked “one-line verses” to try and justify yourself only to be shot down. I have yet to have seen or heard a mormon explain anything about their religion that gives facts that can be verified by non-mormons. Why is that?

As I told him (and he was too afraid to respond…

ok…looked at the first link. I saw no contradictions. I DID find it humorous that you relied on a Muslim site and an Atheist site. That gives us a clue on how you really believe.

Regardless, no real contradictions. One example was a verse where God was called a God of War and another verse where God was called the God of Peace. That is a contradiction? When I was in my military uniform, I suppose I could have been called a man of war…but when I was at home, I was a man of peace…contradiction? Not hardly.

The other alleged contradictions were different writers saying things. How is two people saying things meaning each one contradicts himself? That is a far cry from ONE MAN contradicting himself like Joe did.

Now, I too you do not have the courage to talk to me. You know you will never beat me in a debate. But, I had hoped you could do better than a page of google search When YOU asked for proof, I supplied something I wrote.

But, then, I am Catholic. No need to run. No need to hide. No need to be lazy or be afraid.

Coming to the discovery, understanding and realization of error takes a certain amount and perhaps great amount of fortitude, a gift of the Holy Spirit, something that we can pray The Lord gives in abundance to Mormon’s when discerning the Truth.

Thoughts?

I was as staunch a Mormon as any I have seen here…maybe more so. I was also very anti-Catholic. Yet, look where I am now.

It was no accident or mistake. I was lost when my studies started causing me to doubt the LDS faith. But I prayed for God to lead me where He wanted me. I did not pray for a good feeling or a burning in my bosom. I prayed to be led. The first step was being led out of the LDS Church. It was several years before my journey led to the Catholic Church.

I understand, yet I understand the sacrificial offering from Exodus forward as reality also. While symbolic, it is worship to God to produce a desired effect in obedience. In this sense both symbolic and in reality converge, as they do from OT to NT. Pretty profound metaphysical reality imho. The longer one attends the Catholic Mass in seeking Christ crucified, at some point the complete self is drawn into this consecration. I have to tell ya, if I didn’t witness this myself I too might still be a skeptic. You have to go with faith on this one. If you don’t believe, then frankly you just don’t believe. Lets face it I know Catholics who really don’t believe, not really, unfinished art work, on the other hand there are those who truly do believe, they lead others to this truth. Mystical body of Jesus Christ.

You’ve a diluted understanding. LW7 provided good book recommendations that will help with that.
 
Had a deposition yesterday. Guy had three versions of his story. He had given a written statement, a recorded statement, and had answered interrogatories. Each version was different…but not TOO different. By the end of the depo, I had him so wrapped around the axel he was almost in tears. I was sitting there wishing Wish coulda seen the depo so he could understand how 9 different versions destroy old Joe.

Not good enough…which is why he ran like a coward every time he got in trouble with the law. Even the time he was killed, he illegally had a gun in jail and shot blindly down stairs at people, then tried to run away again, leaving his friends behind to fend for themselves

I keep waiting, in vain, for Math to, in his own words, explain how these are not different and/or contradictory. All he can manage is a hit-and-run website to a weak apologetics site.

I must remember that the Mormon leaders truly discouraging thinking for yourself

Even martyr status. This would be like a Christian in the Coliseum throwing a knife into the crowd, trying to escape and being nailed with an arrow on his way out the door. That is not what martyrs did. Not to mention that they were held for their faith, not because they had committed a crime.
