Have any of you heard this before? I was watching the History Channel and this show was saying how the fish was actually an extraterrestrial submarine. Has anyone heard this before? Does this have any evidence? I always took the story as non-literal but could this have been what happened. If so what is God trying to convey to us through by saving Jonah with other intelligent creations?

Typical History Channel. Ignore it, it’s just wild speculation to get ratings.

I have heard of theories like this and they are all wrong. There is nothing ET going on in the Bible. The story of Jonah is a satire and a message about God’s mercy.

Yeah that’s what I thought. They also said the Chariot in Ezekiel was a UFO but I didn’t buy that one.

Amen. It’s been a while since “History” has anything that qualified as such, at least not on a large scale.

Yeah that is what I was watching. I just figured any show they had on there met a certain standard of historical accuracy to be on the channel. But apparently not lol

It was a time machine. It was mine. Jonah and I travelled back to the 21st century and he spent some time teaching me ancient Hebrew. Then I took him back to the beach. Anyone want next week’s lottery numbers?

Is History Channel not reliable anymore?
Not in regard to Catholicism/Christianity, anything to do with Jesus, Mary or the Angels and Saints.

I especially avoid it around Christmas and Holy Week because that’s when they have the most blasphemous stuff on the History Channel. The History Channel usually features Protestant and dissident liberal Catholic theologians who cover such subjects like “Did Jesus really rise from the dead?” Answer: Yes, He did rise from the dead. (Sorry for boldfacing that but the History Channel REALLY irks me.) They spend hours breaking down the dogmas of the Catholic Faith which even the most rudimentarily catechized Catholic knows by heart.

Now in regard to secular history (WWI, WWII etc), it’s usually OK. However, they do have creepy stuff in those subjects too (like Hitler & the occult) which I avoid like the plague too.

There was your first mistake
Spot on, @adamhovey1988! 🙌

What’s happened to the History Channel is just a crying shame in my opinion. When it first aired, it was very educational and generally historically accurate. I’m not sure if it was due to ratings or what but it started airing more and more absolute crap to the point that it’s now an embarrassment. It needs renaming. Maybe the , “You’ll Believe Anything” channel? So very sad.
