Here’s the thing for me, there’s a lot of belief that we’re better in some way because we aren’t deliberately targeting, or at least officially. However we deliberately invaded Iraqi for no real reason. Casualty numbers range in the low 100,000s to 4 or even 10 times that amount; you can be assured there are many 10s of thousands civilian deaths in there. There certainly have been more deaths since then due to the unstable mess we left behind. If I may I think the point Mr Monk is trying to make is that civilians and innocent people are being deliberately targeted by Muslims extremists for purely terrorist reasons. They are not military value targets. And they acknowledge this and continue this mission.
There are disgusting things that some terrorists have done, but the scale immensely different. We also forget that our own citizens are capable of terrorism. The Las Vegas shootings left 58 people dead and about 850 wounded. Stephen Paddock shot off over 1000 rounds. There are also our tragic run of school shootings. Why do these things not get as much air time?
