The future of Europe is Islam

If I may I think the point Mr Monk is trying to make is that civilians and innocent people are being deliberately targeted by Muslims extremists for purely terrorist reasons. They are not military value targets. And they acknowledge this and continue this mission.
Here’s the thing for me, there’s a lot of belief that we’re better in some way because we aren’t deliberately targeting, or at least officially. However we deliberately invaded Iraqi for no real reason. Casualty numbers range in the low 100,000s to 4 or even 10 times that amount; you can be assured there are many 10s of thousands civilian deaths in there. There certainly have been more deaths since then due to the unstable mess we left behind.

There are disgusting things that some terrorists have done, but the scale immensely different. We also forget that our own citizens are capable of terrorism. The Las Vegas shootings left 58 people dead and about 850 wounded. Stephen Paddock shot off over 1000 rounds. There are also our tragic run of school shootings. Why do these things not get as much air time?

I haven’t heard that “argument” used since leaving primary school
It wasn’t an argument. It was a statement of fact.

@jericho777
That is exactly my point.

How many were the direct result of American action, and how many were terrorist attacks by other Muslims?
Why do these things not get as much air time?
The Las Vegas shooting? Largely because there are disturbing ties to Islam and it wouldn’t fit the narrative.

The recent school shooting has been getting massive air time. I don’t kmow what you’re talking about with that point.

When you roll tanks and heavily bomb a country, that’s called war. Yes people die and the invader bears much of the responsibility. Do deaths only matter if other Iraqis, who likely are Muslim, kill each other after law and order is broken down by our war? This sort of thing is to be expected from any people put in this situation.

Based on prior comments, I assume you meant to say because there weren’t disturbing ties to Islam. Otherwise disregard the following.

The narrative of what? That a white American was able amass a huge arsenal of weapons and use them to kill and injure an incredible amount of people? One causes a second amendment argument and the other a fight to limit immigration. Both are terrorism. My point with the school shootings is that you can almost be assured that any real measures to address the problem will be sweep under the rug. So yes, it is getting attention, but cynically, I don’t expect much to come from it.

Muslim monotheism might help Christianity in Europe to return to its roots.

Yeah. That’s what war is like. It’s nasty business. People die.
That a white American was able amass a huge arsenal of weapons and use them to kill and injure an incredible amount of people?
White American. Huge arsenal. Never wanting to face the truth. Easier just to point the finger at everyone else. Blame the gun. Blame society. Blame the school. Blame the cops. Blame the President. Blame the Church. Blame the voter. Never blame the real culprit.

Because this is a differnet type of war and people don’t want to fight this one. It’s more comfortable to close our eyes and pretend it isn’t happening.

Honestly I’m having a little issue understanding what you mean here. My point being was that there are unequal narratives when a shooter is while vs anything else.

Hello.

Only God can convert a soul.

Converting others is not the main focus of Christianity. Our focus is to love God and each other and to reach salvation. I’m not saying that conversion isn’t important, only that it’s not the main focus. Witnessing to our faith is important, but God is the only one who can convert a heart.

My two cents…

White American. Huge arsenal.
America has a huge arsenal and it is supported by people of all backgrounds. $700 BILLION dollars a year to support the military?? I don’t see where it is necessary to spend that much on the military industrial complex.

The whole problem you have on here is looking at and believing narratives instead of facts.

Is there a worldwide movement of radical whites that is comparable to Islam? The narrative around Dylan Roof was that he eas a radical terrorist and massive condemnation. So no. I don’t see unequal narratives except for when the situation is unequal.

That’s a debate I’d be willing to have. It’s more complex than most people think, which is why Presidents of both parties who talk big games about drawing down usually revise their statements once they actually get in office and learn the facts.

A debate I won’t entertain is comparing Nidal Hassan with the soldiers he massacred.

Of all the countries I have been to in Europe I felt the Scandinavian region countries were in greatest denial of the impact of Islam. They seem to be blindly giving away their countries and continuing to profess everything is ok in the face of the obvious that it is not. Beautiful countries and generally nice people but sadly they are giving it away.

I agree with the assessment of excessive spending on the MIC. A ridiculous amount is spent to control the world.

In Norway a large number of people I was in contact with seemed to take pride in not going to church. As a matter of fact I saw few churches where there was much of anybody in them. I saw much better attendance in other parts of Europe than here. Love the country, but they definitely don’t give appearances of a religious nation.

That is what it looks like to me. $700 billion dollars? One percent of that money could be used to provide safety for school students. Really, $700 billion dollars is outrageous.

Read the last words of Christ on Earth, at the Ascension. Evangelism is not the totality of Christianity, but a huge part of it. It is the part most Catholics and Protestants have forgotten in the past 60 years.

Please detail which specific changes and/or reductions you would make.

Stop development of updated nuclear weapons?

Get rid of our aircraft carriers? How many might you keep?

Ground the B-52’s?

Abolish the Marine Corps?

Shut down the NSA?

Cancel the new KC-46 refueling tanker plane?

Ground the jammer EF-18G planes?

Stop work on stealth?

Obama already shut down low-rate production of the C-17. What would you do to enhance airlift capability?

Can you be really specific?

I will provide you my response. I would like to see us stop our interventionism in foreign affairs. There is no reason to have a military presence in 100-150 countries. A strong defense of our country, yes. Scattering troops around the world, no. That’s the Reader’s Digest version.
