I’ve never tried that, sound good!

Do you make strufolli? They are covered in honey. I make this at Christmas and Easter too.

It sure is and I feel full! 😃
Sometimes when I’m shopping I feel like I’ve mentally eaten what I’ve gazed at on the shelves…this is even better 🍰🍪🍩

My mom bought this great cookbook in 1950 and it has the best cookie recipes. I love this cookbook; the pictures, the antiquated recipes that you never see anymore, like stuff called “something a la somethingorother” Some of it does not look appetizing, though. But the desserts are awesome.

Here’s one of those “a la” somethingorother recipes. On toast, yet!

I like the drawings.

Betty Crocker’s space-age test kitchen! I like the stove and the “gay” Swedish paintings.

Well, that’s my trip down memory lane. Hope you enjoyed it. 😃

LOL!! 😁

Thanks for the memories!

My Mom gave me her old copy from the 60’s after I was first married, but I regretfully didn’t keep it because it was one that was in binder format and the pages kept coming undone and separated and kept falling out, and I got tired of trying to restore them and got tired of putting them back in the book. 😧

I’m sorry that I just didn’t keep it and find a better way to just deal with it.

I think that you can get a reproduction like that one that you have, and the recipes in my Mom’s copy were similar to the ones in the 50’s version.

I used to help her make cookies when I was a child in the 60’s, from the 60’s version. It was a new version at that time.

I think some very old cook books are stuck together with the help of flour, raw egg, butter etc.You could probably survive eating them 😁
We have some handwritten ones from my mother’s mother and also mother in law.
P.s I like your new avatar!

I had no idea you could get a reproduction copy. I just looked on Ebay and sure enough, whomp! there it is! People must have really liked this cookbook. It is super nostalgic. It’s only $4.99! I found one in a thrift store a few years back and gave it to my sister. She was glad to get it. Fond memories.

And?

It was actually a reference from me telling Cruciferi to stop smoking for Lent. 😉

I know.😃 Just putting it out there for anyone who didn’t realize that they’re the same day this year.

When I was a kid my birthday fell in Lent ,I could celebrate that day but had to eat the special things only on that day only,no left overs for the next day.
I would save up any sweets that happened my way for Easter.
