Your dinner looks delicious, @Irishmom2! I love the traditional green bean casserole, and so does my husband. šŸ™‚

It was just the two of us for Easter, as well.

In fact, what everyone else had to eat sounds good, too. ā¤ļø

I made the lemon pound cake from a boxed mix that we got at Aldiā€™s.

Ohh, that lemon cake is sooo good!

The only thing that I would personally do differently with baking it is to adjust the baking time for my own oven as it tends to run hot.

I did turn the oven down due to using a dark non-stick loaf pan, but next time I would probably take the cake out just a few minutes sooner, as it turned out just a bit more brown than I personally like things to bake, but still be acceptable. Thatā€™s just me.

I use this recipe. I do add the mushrooms and red peppers. I use less garlic and I have made this with and without the bacon, both good. I actually prefer no bacon. (One less step. šŸ˜‰)

I cooked the green beans, and sautƩed onion, garlic, mushrooms and red pepper the day before. All I needed to do was make the cheese sauce, mix together and bake on Sunday.

I had my usual ā€œvery healthyā€ breakfast, but Iā€™d rather have some ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls!

I still havenā€™t eaten anything. But now, I have a hankering for ooey gooey nummies. I want Krispy Kreme doughnuts! But Iā€™ll probably have some bone broth. I hate having to be good.

I hate giving up the ooey-gooey foods, too, but I love being slim more than eating. Itā€™s a trade-off.

Kinda good and kinda naughty.

Salami and cheese snack. Boarā€™s Head Maple Ham and cheese wrap, kale salad and Bolthouse Farms Vanilla Chai Tea (the flavor that introduced me to the brand).

I like Jim Gaffiganā€™s recipe for Kale:

Freeze dry it, sprinkle a little cayenne on it, and bury it in the backyard. šŸ˜

I actually love kale, but I know most people hate it passionately!

Actually, Cracker Barrel has a chopped kale and brussel sprout salad that is very good.
I loathe Cilantro though. Iā€™m one of those %20 of the population that has a taste bud that interprets cilantro as SOAP. Gross.

We donā€™t have Cracker Barrel in LA, but I think thereā€™s one in Victorville. Next time Iā€™m in the area, Iā€™ll try that salad. I like cilantro on Mexican food, but I prefer basil and Italian. My favorite! Iā€™d weigh 300 pounds if I ate all I want to eat!

Is that a reference tot he lard and shortening?
I could go for some toll house cookies!
Or the cookie dough itself, even!
