I’ve heard locust eating developed because by the time you have locusts, what else are you going to eat?

I would not touch them with a ten foot pole myself, but they are good at keeping the brothers in law out of the M&Ms. 😈

Here’s what sis has preparing for dinner…

That has been on slow cooking since early this morning. Her version of Chile, and last time she made it, it was quite tasty.

That’s a big crockpot. Likely to be enough for a couple meals. 😄

Come on over.

I am sitting here eating a giant bowl of Dee-Licious chili. It came out perfectly. Flavorful. Spicy, but not too hot.

Have bowls set out for y’all.

Thus BBLT. There are 10 slices of bacon on that sandwich.
Wendy’s baconator is back. I wonder if my arteries have recovered from the one I had something like five years ago . .
“A 3.5-ounce serving of red ants supplies about 14 grams of protein, according to the National Geographic website. The same serving of red ants also supplies 6 milligrams of iron, which is 71 percent of the 8 milligrams men need each day and about one-third of the 18 milligrams women require on a daily basis. Ants are also a good source of calcium.”
On the downside, the effort to filet them before cooking is significant . . .

It looks very nutritious DL.
One of my young hens has just started laying, almost a blue coloured egg shell.

Asian stores are wonderful for a lot of really cheap ingredients that are fairly healthy (and we have the genuine item, not the big box style).

I’ve been told diet affects the eggs. Apparently they feed commercial hens with marigold petals, because it makes the yolks bright yellow.

That’s interesting about the marigold:)
I was reading about the different breeds of hens, the lobes on their faces usually indicate the colour the eggs will be…white, brown ,blue.I love the home free ranging hens eggs as the yolks are really orange.

I think that might depend on your local flora. I’ve heard of all sorts of results from free range hens depending on what’s around them to eat.
