And just who did, Andrei? Show me the post, if you can. I came into this fray late and might have missed it.

Since you’re highlighting the word “define” which was a key point in my recent post, I’ll take this as an answer to that post. My response to that is “You don’t really expect anyone here to believe you weren’t trying to label anamchara, do you? You can try to wiggle out of now but your words are there for all to see. And where are you getting this “arbiter of charity” bit? Rather than just cut-and-pasting, can you give me post numbers so I can read them in context. (I don’t want to go back and read this whole thread from post #1 if you don’t mind.) Thanks.”
Strummer, you are a very kind person.
I am very tired and I need to sleep but I truly appreciate your kind words.
You are very charitable and a good example to all.

This thread is only 159 posts long. You’re in CA, you’ve got the daylight hours to read for yourself.

Don’t be a lazybones!

Wow, this thread has morphed into something unbelievable. My sympathies to the original poster. I fear that she probably feels even more lost- if she manages to make it all the way through at all. I hope she starts a new thread and that it doesn’t become hijacked like this one. 😦

Naww because he made movies where he killed people and blew things up and that’s how we define “real men” 😉 go figure
LOL!

Both Karin and Nils think that I’m Californian, it’s rather funny because I’m so way on the other side of the US from you folks.

What exactly would you like to bet?
That some new people are all from the same place? Maybe the same forum somewhere?
Nice try netty, no cigar. The last board I was on was three years ago over on the Defeners. Go ask Brendan he knows me. I’m not new on here, go read my posts. I have no idea where Kariann is from. You are again trying to build a case or you are just really paranoid.

😃 Now, see, that is why I don’t think I’d block you. That was funny. However, I do work for a living and it is getting late and I’ve got this whole…life thing…y’know? Other fish to fry and all that. Besides, it seems obvious that C-A had a particular post in mind; he should be able to call it up in a snap, right?

I’m not saying anybody did, I was being sarcastic.

Label, define, call it what you want. I am just saying that if someone wants to tell other folks that they are uncharitable, then they doth protest too much.

From my own observations.

If you are willing to jump in to a conversation towards the end and put in your dos centavos, then you can comb through the previous posts and find what you want.

Well if stummer (my husband btw) 🙂 is getting off I should too. It’s been interesting debating/arguing with ya all!!

Nite!!

What is your definition of “modernists”? I am curious.
Modernists are the ones who ran away with Vatican II and introduced innovations to the liturgy, like getting rid of Latin and Gregorian chant, starting communion in the hand and girl altar boys long before it was approved by Rome, and the list goes on ad nauseum. Modernists are the people who want the church to change to fit their own purposes. I’m sure you get the picture. They applaud at everything, and love horizontal worship. They may not be aware they are destroying the Traditions of the Church, but they are along for the ride.

Before this thread dies from a terminal lack of charity – please will everyone step back, take at least one deep breath and consider that you are addressing your fellow Catholics who sit, stand and kneel with you each week at the celebration of the Mass – whatever rite one prefers, it would be a great evangelization tool to illustrate its effects in the way one treats his neighbor.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing." 1 Cor. 13:1-3.

I guess I’m happy to be in a big place like St. Louis. You can find any variety of Mass you want! We have 2 Cathedrals – very traditional, we have several places for Latin Masses, we have the Our Lady of the Snows across the river in Belleville where most of the Mass is sung. We have some very modern churches where adult women can serve. Something for everyone, I’d say. I have 2 parishes I attend on a regular basis. I’m in the choir at Holy Redeemer in Webster, but the choir doesn’t sing in the summer, only cantors. In the summer I go to our neighborhood parish Assumption. The pastor there is wonderful, and it’s right down the street. That’s where I go for confession on Saturday afternoons. We have churches for people who speak Spanish, Polish, Viet Namese, we have Greek Orthodox, Maronite…you name it and we got it. We may be number 1 in crime (that was a skewed study, you’d have to live here to understand the situation) but we may be number 1 in parishes too.
