Only know V from reviews, so all I can say is that Suicide Squad isn’t nearly as nihilistic as V sounds. How much like V for Vendetta was it?

The Car crash scene at the End seemed to last forever,Jason Bourne
Matt Damon keeps getting better and better.
We saw the previews, it’s just got to be stupid, more suited to teens I thought
I think that Steven Spielberg will be very successful while he is associated with Disney. The BFG
We have an obsession with Giants! It was a great imaginative movie and we loved the Queen and her call to Nancy Regan.
I finally saw the new Pete’s Dragon yesterday.I saw Pete’s Dragon remake too. Not as silly as the original, and about what I expected. The special effects were incredibly well done. It was entertaining, which is all I require from most movies. (Well, action/adventure movies are required to have chase scenes and explosions.)
It did inspire me to write a short story:

Enjoy.

You should check out The Jungle Book.I finally saw the new Pete’s Dragon yesterday.
I don’t think I ever actually saw the original. When I was growing up, I had a vinyl record that was basically an abridged, narrated version of that movie. I don’t remember it very well. (There were a number of vinyl records for movies like that back in the '70s and early '80s, including for the original Star Wars. I had that one too.)
But, I enjoyed the new version. It seemed like a very old-school Disney movie – one they might have made 30-40 years ago, if they had CGI technology.
Alien came out in May 1979, Empire Strikes Back in May of the following year.Recently saw (not in a theater) It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Now-a-days it would be claimed it had too many plots and too many characters, but I think they made it work. Wished some of the “walk ons” like the Three Stooges and Jack Benny (almost missed him) had bigger plots. Fun movie.
And since Alien was just mentioned, my Alien story –
It came out the same year as Empire Strikes Back iirc. I was in college at the time, living in the dorm, and had limited access to the paper and TV. So some friends and I went to the movie knowing only that it was a sci-fi, space based movie. No clue that it was a horror/monster movie. Took me totally by surprise. I doubt any movie will every effect me the way that one did. (I remember having a dream that night that aliens were on earth and boy were we screwed.)
