The rating all depends on whichever panel of parents happens to see films under review. It seems to me there ought to be a more standardized method, and a wider review process.I saw an R-rated movie last year called Monsters, and it could have easily gotten away with a PG-13 if it had taken out a few F-bombs and a couple of gory images, both of which are obviously CGI, but there’s hardly any violence in general. There’s also a morning-after scene (proceeding a character getting drunk the night before) that’s not even as racy as a similar scene in the PG-13 X-Men: Days of Future Past.
