āAlarmingā thatās the word I was looking for to describe my impression upon returning to the United State some years back to see the Islamophobia that had developed. I was not here to be given it sip by sip and unnoticed so when I saw the change it was all at once and quite a change.
It is truly unbelievable and it all seems so normal to everyone. To discriminate, promote hatred and destruction to a people supposedly because of their religion and to out right disrespectfully criticize their faith, and make fun of things and people they hold sacred is certainly not Christ like - it is not Christian.
When Saint Paul went to Athens, he respected the Athenians and he told them about Our Lord Jesus. but, he respected them as people and their faith. In other words, he loved them first.
Acts 17:22-23
So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: āMen of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, āTo the unknown god.ā What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.
I am amazed at how successful propaganda can be. That is why the media is considered the Fourth Power. Yes, definately, alarming. Jesus did not say to go into the world and blow up those who hold a faith different than yours.
