The Muslims are Coming

Thank God we are a bunch of gullible hicks. .
The Europeans have their own little dirty problems and they try to incite the Americans to hate and fear the Muslims and blow up their countries to resolve it. Blowing people up, destroying their societies, decapitating their governments, and sending them back several centuries in development is not going to solve the problem for the Europeans. If they implement a ‘final solution’ in addition, it will still not resolve their problem and actually they will only hurt themselves and their societies.

A couple of months after I arrived in Germany where I lived for a couple of years, it was in the news that a group of Germans burned the house of a Muslim family of eight; the mother and father and six children (1994). I was amazed, as I was fresh out of the United States where there wasn’t Islamophobia at the time.

The Europeans have been foreseeing a population problems for decades now and noticed the increase of the Muslim population. They began to fear that they would lose their countries as they know and even in time become a minority. If the Europeans had not tried to 'leave the old ways behind = Catholic faith" perhaps they would not be confronting what they perceive now which is a lose of the identity of their countries as solely German or French or Spanish or at least dominantly so.

But, let’s take a look at what caused this problem = ABORTION. Maybe if they had not abandoned their faith for a modern liberal existence they would not have this “problem” now. In 1973 a law was passed in France establishing that in a custody dispute the parent that has the best financial situation will get the children. REALLY!!! The mothers usually give up their careers to stay home and take care the children, cook and clean and iron the work shirts of their husband and if the marriage must come to an end they lose their children??!!! That is contrary to human nature. It is very pragmatic but humans are not robots. These kinds of laws promote abortion indirectly. In my estimation, that law brought the status of a mother to no more than a cow in the field.

Then they studied the population and see a big problem which would not be solved but possibly deterred etc… and start offering money to people when they have children. Hey, if you spit up the saliva will fall on top of you, as the old Dominican saying goes. Or, the American saying; You can’t have your cake and eat it too. They** wanted** to promote abortion and how it is all fine and dandy and the Catholic Church is backwards etc… The Americans have not really felt the same end as the doors to immigration have been swung opened.

Now they want to promote hatred from the Americans to the Muslims and fear so Americans would support blowing up Muslim countries and if they don’t they are ‘gullible’… Yeah, right.

Meanwhile, the Muslims do not believe in abortion. They have all the children God blesses them with. Some years ago, Jane Fonda and Ted Turner went on a tour of Muslim countries to promote abortion and birth control. That’s great - get them to kill their own babies and prevent pregnancies this way we can take them over easier. Well, I think the only country that allowed them in was Egypt and they were courteous and saw them off after their speech.

I think it is really nice that the Muslims do not kill their babies.

Thank God we are a bunch of gullible hicks. Given what we’ve accomplished in less than a century (#1 in military strength, international power, tech, wealth, etc) Lord only knows what we would have done if we were a bunch of intellectual cynics.
Most Americans are not enjoying the wealth you are talking about. As for military strength, sure we can kill our enemies when we can find them. But when they act like the Muslim terrorist we are presently at war with. We just waste a lot of money, and disrupt lives. Not so powerful when it comes down to it. I guess my point is
  1. you are using stereotypes to counter stereotypes.
  2. The stereotypes you are using, are no truer than the ones you are countering.
For my part, I’m aware how the behavior of people changes when they have the majority, or all of the guns. I see how Islam reactes to conflicting ideals in the lands they dominate. So, if someone wants to talk bad about them here in America OK. The ones I meet on a daily basis are faithful, and polite. So, I don’t have a problem with them at the moment. As Americans continue to turn their back on faith in favor of materialism. We create a vaccum which Islam will fill, as they are doing in parts of Europe. Then we’ll see a change in their behavior.

How did America’s change as a Christian majority? Why will Islam fill this void and not Atheism? I take it you don’t see the comedy as a good idea?

I think you make a great point; moreover, this is the kind of thinking that Pope Francis is telling us to consider.
Thank you. Yes, it is in line with the direction the Pope is pointing us to.:yup:

Btw, the Pope is not pointing to any new direction. It is always the same direction - to Christ. It’s just that sometimes like it happens to sheep we get delayed or get tangled up in some bushes and our shepherd has to call us and lead us on. Nothing new.

Muslims, Jews and Christians did live, work and study together in the Middle East prior to the Jew’s conquest of the land what is now Israel from the Palestinians. Same is true for the for their living together in Spain prior to the Spanish Inquisition. In fact, the Jewish cabala has an image of the three religions depicted in a living unity.

I imagine that the Muslims got to Iberia the same way the Christian Germanic tribes, Rome, Carthage, and Celts got to Iberia. ** The only way Muslims could get to Spain, which formed after the Reconquista,** would be by peaceful immigration. About the only group that can claim to have peacefully immigrated to Iberia would be the Jews (who by the way were subjected to a similar “dhimmi status” under Christian rulers).
Wow, talk about historical ignorance. I’m sorry, but the Muslims didn’t come into Spain peacefully. They crossed into the Iberian Peninsula from Northern Africa in the year 711 AD.

“The conquest of the Iberian Peninsula and Septimania commenced when the Moors (Black Africans, Berbers and Arabs) invaded Visigothic Christian Iberia (modern Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Septimania) in the year 711.[5] Under their Moorish leader, Tariq ibn Ziyad, they landed at Gibraltar on April 30 and worked their way northward.[6] Tariq’s forces were joined the next year by those of his superior, Musa bin Nusair. During the eight-year campaign most of the Iberian Peninsula was brought under Islamic rule—save for small areas in the northwest (Asturias, Cantabria) and largely Basque regions in the western Pyrenees.”

As opposed to being required to convert to Catholicism or put to death under the rule of the Visigoths.
Uh, the Visigoths were Pagan’s who invaded Rome. After the fall of Rome the Visigoths lived peacefully and didn’t immigrate anywhere for centuries-- until they were basically destroyed in 712 AD, when the Muslim’s invaded Spain and defeated the Visigoths in the Battle of Guadalete.

I assume “being required to convert to Catholicism” refers to the Spanish Inquisition? Perhaps you’re not aware of the Black Legend, and believe Protestant created propoganda, rather than what historians actually accept from the time period?

The Black Legend (Spanish: La leyenda negra) is a phrase used to describe the **anti-Spanish historical propaganda **created by writers of Spanish rival powers starting in the 16th century, thought to counter Spain’s increasing influence and power on the world stage. . . The Spanish Inquisition has been one of the main subjects of the Black Legend since its origin. The propaganda created fantastic stories of torture and mass killings, some of which have survived to present-day. The Inquisition was in fact a religious tribunal which existed in several European countries since the Middle Ages, a period when religious unity under the Roman Catholic Church was the norm. Protestant authors from Spain’s rival powers such as England and the Netherlands were hostile to the religious authority of the Vatican and to Spain. Their writings contained exaggerated or sometimes fictional accounts of the Inquisition aimed at demonizing the Spanish Empire and counter its increasing power through propaganda

True, nothing new, in fact for reading I would go one better and suggest this Coptic Father.

Still its doesn’t address the issue of realistic dialogue. That’s not really occurring here as I see. Only on a very small personal scale. No-one is suggesting intentional ignorance or to pretend something exists which doesn’t. Still we are going to have to interact.

See the above link for the harmony between the three religions during the “golden age” in Spain.

Since you’re a fan of Wikipedia:

“On the Iberian peninsula, Jews lived under the governments of first the Romans and subsequently the Germanic Visigoths where they at first thrived, being treated much the same as their non-Jewish neighbors. This status under the Visigoths came to a sudden end after the Visigothic king Reccared embraced Catholicism and his successors attempted to convert their subjects. Many Jews yielded to these forced conversions in secret hope that the severe measures would be of short duration. But they soon bitterly repented this hasty step; Visigothic legislation insisted with inexorable severity that those who had been baptized by force must remain true to the Christian faith. Consequently the Jews eagerly welcomed the Islamic forces when the latter conquered the peninsula in 711.

Historical ignorance would be thinking that the Kingdom of Spain existed prior to the completion of the Reconquista. It didn’t. Hence my distinction between Iberia and Spain.

How did America’s what change?

Islam will fill the void caused by a lack of faith. As for the comedy, it’s silly humor nothing more.

It was either get upset with the previous poster’s silly comment or counter it with one just as silly. I went with the latter. No need for me to become emotionally invested in a discussion that would clearly go nowhere.

I disagree that there is any such “void” to be filled. Atheism is an ideology of its own just like Islamism is. Why would someone abandon one ideology for another? I don’t think many would

The reason that the number of Muslims is growing in Europe and America is immigration. I don’t think people are converting to Islam. Here in OC, there is a large Muslim population but honestly, I’ve never seen a non-Arab Muslim. 🤷 I’m sure there are some converts who converted through marriage, but I see Islam as being mostly a cultural and racial ideology for Arabs and Arabic unity.

I noticed that in the article in the OP, it was made known that one of the “comedians” was “part” Italian. To me, that was the funniest part. 😃

…the fact that they had to make that known, you know…

Actually, it is widespread, racially/ethnically, just not that big amongst the Anglo population. There are plenty of Muslims who are Filipino (primarily the south), Malaysian, Persian, African, etc. All the Stans (Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, etc) are also predominantly Muslim.

That’s smart. We have to take care of the old ticker. 🙂

Orange county? Isn’t that nice.

Historical ignorance would be thinking that the Kingdom of Spain existed prior to the completion of the Reconquista. It didn’t. Hence my distinction between Iberia and Spain.
Clearly I was using Spain and the Iberian Peninsula interchangeably-- as I used both terms. It’s common to refer to vast historical lands using today’s geographical names. For instance, I could refer to France while discussing all the dozens of tribes that existed thousands of years ago, and any historian would know what I’m talking about. Charles Martel was considered a French king, even though “France” wasn’t created until 1792. So your distinction is spurious.

The reality is that the Muslims invaded Spain-- the area known as Spain today-- in 711 AD and killed and destroyed the native people there. They invaded all the way up into France, when they were stopped by Charles Martel. They came there very aggressively. It wasn’t “peaceful immigration,” as you suggested.

After the Europeans took back the land, which took centuries, they kicked out all the Muslims. After that, there was no widespread Islamic immigration.

So any widespread “Islamic immigration” and “peace and harmony” throughout Spain’s history that you refer to was actually violent, with Christians having to live in Dhimmitude and paying crippling Jizya taxes. Meanwhile you were trying to portray the Muslims and Christians living together peacefully for centuries. It’s completely laughable. It’s like saying African-American’s and their masters lived together peacefully. The Christians had to pay Jizya and accept Dhimmi status, just as the blacks in the South had to accept a lower status.

St John of Damascus, a Doctor of the Church, spoke very strongly about Islam. I think I’ll take a Doctor of the Church over an Americanized Catholic understanding of “history” that is more shaped by MSNBC than by the Church, the Bible, and the Doctors of the Church.
