The problem with the herd immunity practice is that no one knows for sure if a specific person could be just asymptomatic/a carrier or would die from it. I mean we could safely guess that an elderly or immunocompromised individual should be isolated.
But what about a twenty something healthy person with no chronic issues? He could just go about as usual due to this herd immunity thing. Then maybe days later, he finds himself down with several symptoms of covid and eventually dies. Therr have been covid cases of young people with zero health issues who died. You never know.
I am also very concerned about the economy and people not having jovs or feeding their families and all, but there is also thr concern of more people getting infected or worse, dying from it. I see a lot of good and well meaning Catholics hampering on about lifting the lockdown due to thr economy and just do herd immunity, but herd immunity seems like drawing lots to me at best. I do not like the mentality, well if you die, tough luck. It’s unChristian.
