Nice to see somebody gets it … Thank you.So those might say who are unaware of the insidious, but very deadly, dilution of authentic Catholic teaching.

The Catholic Church in Chicago is NOT a hotbed of dissent. If where she lives is a hotbed of dissent, where people provide emotional and even material support to the enemies of the Catholic faith, then she is indeed involved in a spiritual battle. But yes she is also blessed.
A Catholic in China is involved in a spiritual battle indeed. But is also blessed, for there the enemies of Christ wear red stars and carry assault rifles. In China it is easy to tell the difference between good and evil. Here in the USA, a person may talk about justice but then help murder babies. So it is easy to be tricked. Whether that is the case where Monica lives I do not know.
Chicago was a “hotbed” of dissent in the days of Father Greeley. So those might say who are unaware of the insidious, but very deadly, dilution of authentic Catholic teaching.
SOME of us have been on the road of bashing false teachings for decades.Nice to see somebody gets it … Thank you.

Praying that rather than being built on a molehill, the Catholic Church in Chicago will remain firmly planted on the Rock of Christ which is Christ’s Vicar the Pope, along with the Bishops in union with the Pope, and the Teachings of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church in Chicago is NOT a hotbed of dissent.
I lived in the Archdiocese of Chicago for most of my adult life.
The majority of my relatives still live there.
I’m 64 yrs old and one of 36 first cousins, aged 42 to 70+.
Calling a molehill a mountain does not make it a mountain.

Best example for you:Praying that rather than being built on a molehill, the Catholic Church in Chicago will remain firmly planted on the Rock of Christ which is Christ’s Vicar the Pope, along with the Bishops in union with the Pope, and the Teachings of the Catholic Church.
“And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” ~~ Matthew 16:18

It is not disingenuous at all actually. The Catholic teaching, as put forth by the pope, creeds, and catechisms is rather clear as to what Catholicism means.Of course, those on the left would also agree that the Church should be Catholic again- their version of Catholic. What both sides want is the Church to conform to their ideas of what being a Catholic means- the left tend to focus on the social justice aspect while the right focuses on freedom, pro-life aspect.
My opinion is that there is nothing wrong with advocating for your interpretation of what being Catholic means. However, it is disingenuous to claim that what you are doing is not spouting your view but rather just defending the REAL Catholic way.
This does not make Pfleger any less of a Catholic of course. On a roll, Pfleger mustered up his best Wright imitation and let loose on the entire country, proclaiming: “America is the greatest sin against God.”
So many of us were raised to associate ourselves moreso politically than theologically. It’s sad that if I live a life of “normal” longevity, I’ve lived 2/3 of it in darkness. There really is only ONE authentic Catholic way. We either accept and try to live by all of the teachings of the Church, or we are not being fully Catholic.
For once, why don’t you deal with what the remark means instead of jumping to high dudgeon? Maybe they were criticizing some of the historical, racist acts of the government? How radical of them! This does not make Pfleger any less of a Catholic of course.
The biggest dissent in the Chicago archdiocese concerns closing of churches and schools, not liturgy or political views. If where she lives is a hotbed of dissent, where people provide emotional and even material support to the enemies of the Catholic faith, then she is indeed involved in a spiritual battle. But yes she is also blessed.
“America is the greatest sin against God” is what he said. the context was his imitating Jermiah Wright’s “Goddamm America !”.For once, why don’t you deal with what the remark means instead of jumping to high dudgeon? Maybe they were criticizing some of the historical, racist acts of the government? How radical of them!
Why is anyone demonizing Father Pfleger right now?“America is the greatest sin against God” is what he said. the context was his imitating Jermiah Wright’s “Goddamm America !”.
There are a lot of us against racism, and virtually no one on the left or the right that does not recognize the terrible toll that racism has played in human history.
It is America’s great achievement that the racism that was once the province of the respectful is now shunned as fit for only the basest among us.
That being said, who cares why these leftists are fanning the flames of hatred with their outrageous statements. That they are fanning the flames is enough to recognize that we are dealing with people with a total lack of character.
Frankly, I would prefer the company of non-Catholics and non-Christians than the likes of these leftist rabble-rousers.
They lack character as far as I am concerned. They poison minds with the filth that comes out of their mouths. I would no more defend their rhetoric than I would the El quada brethren who are fond of quoting the left in their battle agaisnt the “Great Satan”, America ‘dammable by God’, the greatest sin against God even.
It is not papal, it is not even catcehismal, but it is the Catholicism of the Left all the same. Disingenuous or not, it is a form of Catholicism that we all do well to reject.
.
Michelle Malkin has no use for him ture enough. whether that is demonizing him, who knows?catharina;6510623 [QUOTE said:]Why is anyone demonizing Father Pfleger right now?
Is it because folks salute Michelle Malkin?
Michelle Malking quoted him correctly. As far as I can tell, Father Pfleger is obedient to his bishop.
He accepted a censure with humilty.
His diocesan superior knows him and has chosen to honor him.
Yea, okay, whatever.Michelle Malkin is no opinion setter for me.
Talk about much ado about nothing.
I fully agree. I want no truck and trade with Catholic rabble rousers and hateers on the Left. America being the greatest sin against God is just not the kind of Catholic I am.Yet to some, Malkin out-ranks Cardinal George?
That’s pathetic and divisive in the extreme.
Surely you meant to say “on the left or on the right.” Or did you?I fully agree. I want no truck and trade with Catholic rabble rousers and hateers on the Left. America being the greatest sin against God is just not the kind of Catholic I am.
The Left has aligned themselves with the Islamist radicals with their rhetoric and their intent, and if half of the Catholic Church want to go there, that has nothing to do with me.
It is not Catholicism as far as I am concerned. I am glad that Michelle Malkin agrees.
It’s likely, imo, that other Baptists are equipped to deal with WBC. I’m not a Baptist.Having read her column, I find nothing offensive about it at all. When one reads that Pfleger was arrested for vandalizing billboards in addition to his other idiotic activities, one can’t help but wonder what the hell is going on.
Now I would like to ask my critics here if the Westboro Baptist Church in addition to its disgusting protests outside of funerals, also did good community work like what Pfleger does, if they would be willing to defend the Westboro Baptist Church to the same extent that they defend Pfleger.

catharina;6510726:
You do acknowledge that history includes “haters on the right?”No, this is about the Pflegerization of the Church. I am specifically addressing the haters on the Left.
Nay, more than that, I was specifically addressing the comment to Father Pfleger, and tangentially to Reverend Wright as well, as that is who Beau seemed to be alluding to.
Haters on the right were never really a part of this topic anyways so they are irrelevant to anything I was saying, a red herring so to speak.
I have respect for Malkin. She is commenting on a current item in the news, as she has every right to do. She is acting responsibly in every way, and her article makes clear that she made every opportunity available to ensure that she was misquoting this sorry example of a Catholic authority.
She writes for a living, yes. According to the Left, this must be some kind of sin or a reason for denigrating her as less than reliable.
As if leftist commentators never, ever would make money off their words.
Nor would leftist presidents ever sell their words, for that matter.
Apparently, writing for a living is only a sin for the right, but not for the left.

George Wallace comes to mind. (Maybe you don’t acknowledge it.)
Oh well, continue your rant. Ta Ta.
