The Queenship of Mary

I’m not accusing Jesus of anything. You read the passages and you make the decision. Did Jesus refer to Mary as queen in those passages or any others?
Was Jesus king yet? No. Bathsheba was not Queen until Solomon became King. Until then, she was just another loyal subject, even having to grovel at the current kings (David’s) feet.
As far as Jn2:4,I don’t know how you draw the reference to Eve could you explain?
The Church has taught since at least the 2nd century that the “Woman” in Genesis 3:15 is pointing toward Mary. “I shall put enmity between you and the woman”. St.'s Justin Martyr and Ireneaus (155AD and 180AD) immediately saw this parallel.

In the Gospel of John we have a re-creation account. Notice all the themes of Genesis in the opening of John. "In the Beginning was the word… we have the theme of light, darkness, life, and so on. We have 7 days, as Jesus goes about meeting all the Apostles and John the Baptist.

And then on the 7th day of John’s Gospel there is a wedding. The New Adam is there, and “The Woman” - the 2nd Eve - Mary. In Genesis, we had a wedding on the 7th day as well.

John furthers this theme, Mary as the 2nd Eve, by referring to her as “Woman” in Revelation, just as God referred to the first Eve as “Woman”.

Think about it - The Bible begins with a battle between Adam, Eve, and Satan and Satan wins. Then the Bible ends with a battle between the New Adam, the 2nd Eve, and Satan and Satan loses.

Awwww, DaisyD… just when I was beginning to have fun.

Now, why did you have to go and do that? 🤷

The rest of her seed is refering to the believing remnant of Jews.
The problem with that premise is that the majority of the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ as the Promised Messiah.

That is contrary to what the Revelation 12:17 states,
17 And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ
The seed are Christians not Jews.

The ark of the covenant held the tablets of the law, the Word of God.
Jesus is the Word of God made Flesh.

The ark also held manna, the bread that came down from Heaven.
Jesus is the Bread which came down from Heaven.

The ark also held the staff of Aaron, the High Priest.
Jesus is the Eternal High Priest.
Thank you - that’s beautiful! 🙂

Those remnant believing Jews would have been the first Christians.

Keep in mind, when Jesus founded the Church, all of its members were Jews who recognized Him as their Messiah. It was those Jews (the Apostles and the many other disciples and converts who listened to the Apostles) who kept His Tradition and teachings alive, and passed them down to us in the first few decades of the Church. It was not until well into the second century that the Church became a primarily Gentile institution.

What happened to DaisyD? Did she get banned overnight? What did I miss? 🤷

I hate when I’m left out of the loop… :crying:

A closing hymn before we depart?

(SINGING)

Hail Holy Queen, enthroned above!

(all join in) OH, MA-RI-A!!

Hail Mother of Mercy and of Love,

(all join in) OOOOH, MAAA-REE-AAA!!

Triumph all ye seraphim!

Sing with us ye cherubim!

Heaven and earth resound the hymn!

(all join in) SALVE!! SALVE!! SAAAL-VAAAY REGINA!!

(repeat until the entire congregation is singing together, including that deaf guy in the back corner.)

Again, though - Mary is Queen of Heaven because her son Jesus is its King. When we acknowledge Mary as Queen, we are saying that Jesus is really our King - we’re not just calling Him “King” to flatter him in some way, but the entire Royal entourage is in fact actually there.

I really enjoy this day, for it really riles up Protestants who try to connect Mary our Queen with the pagan Queen of Heaven mentioned in Jeremiah. Of course, they are not the same.
Dear mozier,
I am new to this forum. Have visited the trad forums and am so turned off by their condescending attitudes “We’re the only ones going to heaven, haha” and their very nasty remarks to other posters–I’m wondering why you are really happy about riling up protestants? Please do not tell me that same attitude is here on this forum.

You will note that I didn’t say all Protestants, but rather those Protestants who try to connect Our Lady to things that she is not. I do not fault Protestants for not believing as we do about Mary, otherwise they would be Roman Catholics then, wouldn’t they? As well, I do not fault them for being Protestants in the first place, for they are what they are. Would though that they would find the full truth of Christianity that is found in the Roman Catholic Church! I pray for this every day, and as one who assists in guiding former Protestants into the church through my parish’s RCIA program, I have the joy of seeing them find their way to the one true faith, including their discovery of a true understanding and love for Mary Our Mother.
