You won’t find this passage from 1 Corinthians in either the Sunday or the Daily Lectionary.
1 Cor 6:9
“Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites.”
Boy prostitutes is also sometimes translated “effeminate”. Now, neither is read in Mass.
And there are others like this. Sometimes the “short” option" is used and sometimes these cases are also those that dance around PC topics, avoiding them!

We still have the women’s Rosary Altar Society, but the male Holy Name Society was pretty much abolished.
In some cases, the Knights of Columbus filled in for the Holy Name Society, but not entirely and the Knights seem to be dominated by golf and by fancy (expensive) uniforms.
We used to have religious instruction taught by women and mostly using the Baltimore Catechism. But the idea of “rote memorization” from the Catechism was thrown out (by women running the religious education offices).
So now, the CCD graduates don’t know much of anything. And learning by osmosis seems to be limited.
I argued for years/decades that the priests should TEACH from the pulpit, but I was told they were under orders to PREACH and not to TEACH.

I don’t see it as a deterrent.
I have a radical view on this…it’s men’s own fault, we’ve shirked our role in the family, preferring to sleep in, to not engaging “Father so and so” when he runs off the reservation on some homily topic, to not setting a sturdier example to his family by frequently and cheerfully going to confession…“Now children remember the heroic rule…“worst first”…tell God through the priest your worst sins first, and get them out of the way”.
It’s men’s fault.
And that’s left a vacuum…and poor father has no one else to help him…so everything gets ladified…and that drives away young men who are looking for ways to be heroic as they grow up.
We are also “clericalizing” the lay…turning everyone into a “minister” etc. EMHC’s. etc. Another topic.

In various committees, there were women who strenuously argued for the ordination of women priests and for that reason wanted female altar servers.
When a seminarian who was helping out was observed chatting with some girls, someone gasped, “Thank God”.

The problem, whatever it is, lies with the men who are committing a mortal sin by not attending Mass on Holy Days of Obligation.
Some men would die rather than betray the Church. Is the licit and valid Mass of Paul VI a worse threat than death? Are altar girls rather than altar boys a threat worse than death?

I have been a Catholic for more than 50 years, and I can count on 1 hand the homilies on “pelvic” issue…and I go to daily Mass too.
It’s a huge myth, and the left has WAY blown this topic out of the water with a big confessable lie.

My point is “the reason why young men are leaving the church” is a lack of strong role models for men, notably first their own dad.
Has nothing to do with “ew girls” but rather “is there something here that can help me grow into a substantial man”.

Boys and girls do often go through a phase where they stop wanting to mix so maybe there is an element of ewwww girls.

More to it than that.
God gives us our parents (and hopefully the parents give us sisters and brothers) to help us grow into the people (men and women) that He needs us to be for the good of the world, mainly our own one-day family.
Virtues just don’t grow on trees…just look at Detroit…they have to be taught, coached, modeled.
Men and women live the virtues in different ways, owing to their chemical, biological, hormonal differences (also designed by God).
Boys learn best from their father.
If the fathers live an indifferent, selfish, pusillanimous life…their boys miss a big part of the formation that God was hoping they would get.

Well, I just came from morning Mass and I saw at least 1/3 guys in the congregation of about 50 people…some old guys, some guys with their wives, some middle-aged guys on their way to work including lawyer in suit with law books in a bag, a couple college guys in hoodies. On the altar, a guy priest, a guy deacon, and a guy altar server. After the Mass, the church handyman and two other guys came out and started setting up the Christmas creche.
