I like Steve Wood’s ideas (www.dads.org):🙂

Men should try to emulate St. Joseph. St. Joseph was the head of the Holy Family. Nobody would claim that St. Joseph was greater than Jesus, yet St. Joseph was the Head of the family. Nobody would claim that St. Joseph was greater than Mary, yet he was the head of the household.’

Fathers should be a servant leader just like St. Joseph. They should be willing to sacrifice their job for their family. They should certainly be willing to sacrifice/supress their sexual urges. They should be faithful to their wives. They should spend time with their family.

Well i am new on this thread, and feel i have to say that because i have simply…apeared, in the middle of a conversation. It has touched my heart emensly that there are more men here, than i know personally, that are aware of what God expects of a couple.

I expect my vocation, as a wife to do as much as i can to insure the happiness, fofilment and growth in my husband. I also believe that this growth begin with a spiritual foundation and understanding. Without this, all other attempts (without the Lord) will not lead to the Lord, but will lead away.

My expectations of a man are simply mirrored. I expect him to support me emotionally spiritually and understand we have different roles, but we must work as a unit.

Unfortunately, what was peacefully beautiful, with the Lord, and as special as my heart has ever been treated and loved…is no more. My husband, i have found out, has tricked me, falsely represented himself, we have 2 girls age 6/7 and he has nothing to do with me, has turned against the marriage, the vows, the church, and i am now emotionally lost. My support and wonderful son of nearly 19 of a previous marriage, died last year, and my husband has taken advantage of my loss, finances, living arrangements, …

In all…i know what is right, but my husband, feeling he should honour his fathers teachings, has deserted everyone. So emotionally, to hold things together, i have allowed my heart to go cold…or i would simply crumble.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will pray for you, your husband, and the rest of your family.

IF you’re married, does your husband know that the way you think about him is in regard to what he can give you or do for you?

If you’re not married, no wonder. You have no respect for men.
I asked on another thread recently,
“do you have a sense of humor”? Your answer would have been NO

puzzleannie is a good person, she didn’t deserve that. (I thought it was cute puzzleannie). Made me laugh!!

and Rammy, you and your little one’s are in our prayers daily, God loves you, (you know that.)
