Please read what I said again. No one needs to be a professor to see human beings as human beings, to see neighbors as neighbors.

The point isn’t whether Democrats or Republicans win or lose
The point is exactly that Trump purposely invoked a Pavlovian response in democrats in order gain a political advantage.

I started the thread. I know what the point of the thread.

Democrats leaders and leftists continue to live only in their closed PC/communist circle. They thought the immigrant story would have legs. The average American is sick and tired of our immigration laws being ignored. It hits the average American where he lives. He has personal experience of the huge cost of immigrants.

The Democrats won’t fool people on this issue. What they will do is make the swing voters see how dangerous and out of touch Democrat politics are.
I hope no one with extreme political animosity toward one party, either Republican or Democrat would be teaching in a PUBLIC University.
Universities are full of people with an animosity towards everything that is right and good. The most helpful thing conservative politicians could do is get rid of public education at all levels.

Not the point of the thread — the point of a Catholic’s response to what’s happening around us.

I am Catholic and this thread is my response to what is happening around us.

You know better than me how I should respond?

I think the “Trump is Hitler” strategy is something that is both ridiculously fanciful and aggressively abusive. It reflects extremely poorly on the Democrats with many people.

In strategic terms it will probably not be considered a blunder if the Democrats win the house in 2018.

I think the “Trump is Hitler” strategy is something that is …
… an invention of the journalist who penned the editorial linked to in the OP.

And if this is supposed to be about party strategies, it should be noted that the links in the editorial are not links to information or activity from the Democratic Party.

No one’s listening. No one cares. When reality doesn’t fit with political narratives, it’s ignored.

I agree that when reality doesn’t fit with political narrative most people turn away but would suggest it is not ignored in the sense of not registering what has been attempted.

Seriously. The people with the greatest display of TDS tend to be either retired or current university professors. Constantly fuming and comparing Trump to Hitler or Mussolini-calling themselves Christians, while ignoring some of the heinous policies of Obama(like letting those born alive after abortion attempt suffocate to death), is downright laughable. I just don’t take these kind of hypocrites seriously.

And this is the most appalling part of these times of Trump: tribal facts preferred over truth; tribal epistemology preferred over knowledge; tribal actions preferred over wisdom.

This is so yesterday.

George Taki or whatever his name is, the guy who played Sulu, he was talking about the border scenes reminding him of his tender years in a Jap internment camp. Well that is Roosevelt not Hitler.

See how Trump has evolved. He is not Hitler any more he is Frankie Roosevelt.

Amen. Appalling, horrifying… 😦

As if the liberal political ideology that lays waste to the life teachings of Jesus as in the five Catholic non negotiables didn’t. The craziness that we see from the liberals now is an outcome of that ideology.

Godwin’s Law revisited. Over and over again.

WW2 internment camps were an FDR thing, not Hitler. But wait, FDR is a Democratic hero, we’re not allowed to say anything bad about him!

Yet again, there are more than 5 non-negotiables.

Yet again I’m well aware of the seamless garment nonsense that got us eight years of an anti Catholic, pro contraception, pro abortion, redefining marriage, supporter of the Planned Parenthood that you’ve seen in the undercover videos government and as a side hobby laughed at the idea of religious liberty. Thankfully enough Catholics were not hoodwinked by that in the last election and we have a pro life administration.
