If I was in Hawaii right now, I would definitely be surfing. After I came back from catching some waves, I would buy us a few Coronas and sit under a coconut tree, sharing with you that Jesus Christ is sufficient for you… in spite of what you personally believe. It doesn’t really matter if you believe that Christ is sufficient for you, because Christ is sufficient for you even though if you don’t believe iti am soooo sorry 2ndbut the op is about sufficiency. and my dear brother, you are going to debate it from the calvinist protestant view. it going to go back to tulip no matter what. i respect you and enjoy your post. but face it… you are a hard core calvinist
and darn it, some of us love you for it. you wanted to discuss sufficiency, and you wont be able to help yourself. lol! Love in Christ, and i do mean that. you really are something else. we would probably have a great time if we ever met in person. getting ready to go to the beach with good friend.( shes lapsed Catholic.) any how, yall have a great day and be nice to eachother. God bless you this veterans day.

I’m an old man at the age of 48. I am seriously thinking about early retirement in Hawaii, because I miss surfing too much. I’m not sure how I’m going to convince my wife to move. Anyways, since we are drinking Coronas under the coconut tree in fellowship, the question is… are we going to allow those guys with the white shirts to sit under the coconut tree with us? I grew up surfing with some Hawaiian guys who are and were Mormons. If you haven’t noticed, there’s a Mormon influence in Hawaii.hi 2nd. i do believe what the Church teaches about sufficiency. just not calvins view. and if you were here in hawaii right now. id be going halvesies right now on that corona, body surfing cause i cant surf. and discussing the Church fathers with you. in spite of what you personally believe.lol! its all good. at least we can discuss these issues in this day and age and do it in the Spirit of Christian love. not like it used to be… thank God!![]()
Which Church Fathers are we discussing since some of those guys were quite Protestant in thought?great pictures by the way.
He is convinced , he will just never admit it. he is not here to be convinced of anything really . Just to get his kicks out of raising ire. He loves it more than surfing. just look at the evidence 2300post and 30 odd threads. AMAZING all in about 2months.negative my friend. that will never happen. not possible to become a Catholic Calvinist hybrid. also i believe he has completely spanked you on calvinism, even if you are not convinced, it think the court of public opinion will side with him. lol!![]()
im 40 years old myself. and yes we can sit underneath the tree with mormons. i have been to their temple complex here in oahu. the temple itself is under reconstruction. but the people in the visitors center were wonderful. and yep. big mormon influence. but yes, we can give them a shirley temple…no pun intended… and all sit under the coconut tree. they can expound the BOM to us and explain some of the harder to understand passages.I’m an old man at the age of 48. I only allow Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox under my coconut tree of fellowship. I used to flatten the tires on the Mormon missionaries bicycles so they couldn’t flee when I preached Christ and Him crucified to them. Mormons are outside of our circle of fellowship; therefore, you need to proclaim the true gospel to them. Be careful though, don’t get a native Hawaiian Mormon mad at you, and run if they start calling you a haole…im 40 years old myself. and yes we can sit underneath the tree with mormons. i have been to their temple complex here in oahu. the temple itself is under reconstruction. but the people in the visitors center were wonderful. and yep. big mormon influence. but yes, we can give them a shirley temple…no pun intended… and all sit under the coconut tree. they can expound the BOM to us and explain some of the harder to understand passages.![]()
Mormons and Catholics get along fine. It is the Protestants who don’t get along with anybody, Catholics or Mormons alike.I only allow Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox under my coconut tree of fellowship. Sorry, no Mormons under my coconut tree of fellowship.
This is kinda like a game. We are now on page 5, you are putting us on a suspense mode, and the poor posters here are playing along, but yet the questions on page one is nowhere unraveled.I promise you that I will answer your questions at the right time.
I would say it is the other way round. God allows man freedom of choice. Joshua said: “choose you this day whom ye will serve” (Joshua 24:15). Protestants dishonor God by denying man this God given right. Catholics (and Mormons), on the other hand, honor God by acknowledging His free gift of genuine choice to man.The sufficiency of Christ
I believe the essential difference between Protestants and Catholics is the work of Christ for sinners. It really has to do with the sufficiency of Christ. A Catholic brother posted on another thread that Christ is all sufficient. However, I believe the Protestant position is really about the sufficiency of Christ, and the Catholic view of the work of Christ is not the same. The Catholic position has a lower view of the work of Christ than Protestants in the disucssion of sufficiency.

See ya when you are good and ready; I am just curious about your answers and perhaps to see them, God willing. Then maybe there will be something to say. In the meantime, have fun, 2nd.
God bless you.

Let’s blame it on Benidict. While he’s laying on the beach in Hawaii, we are waiting for guanaphore to kick my bottom before I spill the beans. Guanaphore already responded on another thread that I posted about the sufficiency of Christ, and he responded that Jesus is all sufficent for Catholics too. So, let’s wait and see what he means by the sufficiency of Christ.Okay, now we are going to have to wait for my favorite brother guanaphore to post on this thread before I spill the beans. - Adam

2nd Adam, it is quite a statement you made there. What Catholic view is not the same as Protestants about the sufficiency of Christ? How is Catholic position has a lower view of the work of Christ than Protestants? Please tell us what it is or please answer the post below:
And after page six, 2nd is not about to spill the bean and some of us are salivating …You’ve made these statements but not said why you believe the above. Why do you believe that the Catholic position is lower in terms of Christ’s sufficiency? How are the Protestants and Catholics views different?
Thanks!
