God said they could eat of ANY tree but not the Tree of Knowledge.

The Tree of Life was in the garden of Eden.

If they hadn’t have listened to the serpent and sinned and then later ate of the Tree of Life would they have lived forever?

And would they have experienced an increase in the amount of grace they had?

They were created with sanctifying grace.

If they hadn’t have sinned and had eaten of the Tree of Life would they then be Full of Grace like Mary?

Would there have been no need for Calvary then?

Would they have had children?

Would it only be Adam and Eve who would be guranteed to live forever or would it also mean that their children would live forever?

If they had eaten of the Tree of Life would they have later been able to sin or not?

I’ve always looked at Mary’s being “Full of Grace” like Adam and Eve would have been if they had never sinned and if they had also eaten of the Tree of Life?.

Is that true?

I’ve been away. I’ll have to reread Genesis and its footnotes so I can figure out the tree of life.

Happy Mother’s Day, granny!

Thank you. Mother’s day was great. However, if you knew my one daughter and five boys, nothing would surprise you. Because brunch reservations (after we gathered for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass) were not available, we all ended up at one son’s home where the five boys scrambled eggs, did bacon and French toast, plus pineapple slices which one son brought in at the last minute. We ladies sat in the living room being served. 🙂 My boys were so sweet.😃
So,

Love unites us to God,
Love unites us to all people, (since God unites to all people)
Which is imperfect in this life,
And perfect in Eternal Life?

I’m not sure if this helps…

All people naturally seek Perfect Happiness,
Rejection of Perfect Happiness comes from not seeing Perfect Happiness for what it is,

Therefore,

Since
Adam and Eve sinned (chose to separate themselves from God)
Then
Adam and Eve did not see Perfect Happiness for what it is.

Through the Tree of Life, we do see Perfect Happiness face to face.

I don’t know about your hypotheticals.

Sounds like a wonderful day. 🙂
Have a question. Do you think there is a better word than “unites” in (since God unites to all people)? Or maybe it could be God as love unites all people because He created them.
Also, you have started me remembering my childhood with "Which is imperfect in this life, And perfect in Eternal Life? When I was little, we thought of heaven as being perfect because we could have all the ice cream we wanted. I remember hearing about the Beatific Vision but really didn’t have a clue back then. Seriously, the idea that what is imperfect would be perfect in Eternal Life is amazing.
I’m not sure of the difference?
Can you imagine what loving God perfectly (that is the very best we could do) would be like?
Happily, I would say no.
That first line, “Love unites the divinitity and humanity of the Christ” is really wroth meditating on. Wish I could adequately relate the thoughts which flowed through my soul just thinking of Christ as perfect love both for God His Father and for us poor beings. Yes, love does unite us to the Christ which unites us to God.

I know a bit about the pascal lamb as the Passover Meal and as a sacrificial symbol for Christ . Don’t be sorry – no question is too soon. It can always be revisited later.
As I have read back over the posts, I find myself relating to the emotional words which is good. Maybe I need to understand the use of symbols more. Go ahead and see what you come up with regarding the pascal lamb.
I’m no expert on Judaism but,
I would say the paschal lamb united Israel to God in faith.
I’ve read something like that. Tell me more.
The Holy Spirit is the love between the Father and the Son.
The merciful doctor respects the uniqueness of humanity. “freely cooperating patient” is the ideal. However, because of our unique free will, we can choose not to cooperate which the merciful doctor who in turn respects us and therefore does not impose treatment.

P.S. My boys are also smart – they used paper plates.😛

Blessings,
granny

John 3: 16 & 17

I’ve always thought of the paschal lamb as being connected with the Jewish Passover. Now I’m seeing Christ as the Lamb of God everywhere. Today, at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, I listened intently to “This is the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to His supper.” Earlier, there was the Agnus Dei, “Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.”
Do you think Jesus is telling me something?" :doh2:
I don’t know,
But keep praying.

I agree,
Christians often use reason to explain their faith.
A faith which is not received from reason but from God.

…I agree, God is the action, and humanity cooperates by free will…

Thanks granny,
To minister means to serve,
Catholic “priests” are only “ministers” to both Christ and others.
Catholic priests are still a kind of mediator.

God = Life = Unity,
Sin separates us from God.

So since,
Death and illness are separations from Life and Unity,
Then,
Sin has contaminated the human body,
From birth.

Therefore,

There must be a remedy for this contamination,
For the human body to be resurrected and to have Eternal Life.

(Sometimes a judge is also a merciful doctor.)
What I meant is that you are looking at the theology TAUGHT by the Adam and Eve story, instead of viewing the story as history, which it is not, otherwise it infers that God is an unjust judge, who extends the punishment of 2 little individuals to their 100,000,000,000 descendents; and otherwise God loves sin, by also punishing those descendents by making them more sin-prone.

The Catholic Church teaches theology. Praise God!

Children inherit physical illnesses and mortality from their parents (except Adam and Eve),
Neither the children nor parents are responsible for this.

God is not unjust because there is innocent suffering in the world.
Just as Christ was crucified, though innocent.

And Christ conquered sin, physical illness, and death,
By way of the cross.

Plus, resurrection and eternal bliss are on the other side of everyone’s cross.

It seems that:

Israel is analogous to the pre-glorified body of Christ.
The Church is analogous to the pre-glorified and glorified body of Christ.
I’ve heard people take my words out of context,
The glorified body of Christ are only those who are in heaven.

I would like to hear up front if there are any problems with my statements.

Hi Psychotheosophy,

I know I have missed some of your posts and I know I sometimes change my mind after I think these over. So if there is something I’ve taken out of context, please let me know…

Blessings,
granny

All human life is worthy of profound respect.
