So, I guess, that Jews were Jew from the beginning of Creation? Maybe, circumcision is not necessary. Is Judism a religion?

John
So, Jesus could have been born something other than Jewish, (I KNOW HE WAS’T) and convertred to Judism. For someone to say that Mary is not Catholic is like saying that Jesus was not circumcised, and a Jew. Not only is Mary a follower of Jesus, she is His Mother. Mary is the mother of God. The first Christian/Catholic. If she isn’t Catholic/Christian what is she a Protestant?

The guy who wrote that website was poorly informed, and obviously harboring some deep-seated grudge agains Catholicism- don’t try to find any logic in his silliness. 👍

Which in those days was pretty well synonymous with Catholic 😛

As I said, what she definitely WASN’T was the denomination of our good friend the Pastor here.
Hi Lily,
I didnt read the article. Im not sure what denom your talking about.
Their were no denoms back in Mary’s days–you were simply christian. Since I dont believe in the CC they you guys do(as you already know;) ) I do not believe the CC existed back then. The point is Mary is a Jew who was fullfilled by Christ. Jesus was originally for the Jews, as we know, and because of their rejection, we(gentiles)were allowed to be grafted in. But I digress and may be off topic because I didnt read the article:o

Hmm…this is a joke site, right? I’m exploring the “Things Catholics learn when they go do bible study” page I found from following the OP’s link. (source)

The “good Pastor” can’t be serious…

I find anti-Trinity sentiments (is he Pentecostal?)
Also found, anti-wine sentiments (is he Baptist?)
I also ran across some anti-birthday sentiments (is he JW?)
I also found something mentioning a turkey, but I’m not linking that…too fowl for CAF

I’m moved to prayer–his disorganized thoughts make me think he might be a schizophrenic.

Now for obvious reasons Mary could not have been born and raised a Christian for the simple reason that until she gave birth to baby Yehoshua there was no such thing as the concept of Christianity. Mary was Jewish and as such she gave birth to a Jewish child.

Now as to latter developments, Christianity in its early stages was merely a sect of Judaism and had not developed and adopted beliefs irreconciable with Judaism. Therefore logic tells us that during her lifetime she would have considered herself to be Jewish and be considered by others as being Jewish.

I just clicked on the pastor’s name. You can email him.

Of course, the article is dated 20 years ago, 1986, so perhaps he’s not around anymore.

Wouldn’t it be cool if he became Catholic since 1986?

Anyway, those with the information to refute him, I’d say try emailing him. Let him know he’s teaching untruths.
