I consider such responses as trying to putting words into the mouth of Jesus. Jesus never said that he won’t marry. He had parts; which speak of the will of the Creator; Jesus must have fulfilled the will of the Creator; unless it is thought that he did not have the needed confidence (I here take refuge in Allah) of a male in him or that he thought that there was some defects in him. I understand that those who are born without a father, they cannot mate with opposite sex and cannot have children.
paarsurrey,

We know for 100% certainty from Holy Tradition that Jesus was not naturally married. The Apostles of Jesus handed on this information to us through Apostolic Succession, from bishop to bishop, down to our day. There is no room for opinion on this, it is certain fact, based on Holy Tradition, that Jesus was not naturally married.

The people who are trying to put words in the mouth of Jesus are Ahmadi Muslims, such as yourself, and Jews like Ben Masada, and all others who are attacking Christianity.

Yes, He had parts, but He never used them in a natural marriage, because that was not His mission. His mission was not to naturally marry one lady, but supernaturally marry all human beings, gathered up into the Church. There was no defects in Jesus, it was simply not His mission to naturally marry a lady.
So these are important issues on which Jesus should not remain silent. Jesus himself should speak for claims and reasons. Jesus had a free will and he was wise also; his followers need not excel him in both. If that is the case; then it means Jesus should have followed them, instead of them following Jesus; which I think no Catholic would like to believe. Please do not try to put any wisdom in Jesus; he already had much of it, I am sure.
Jesus is not silent, He told us through His Church, that the Church is His wife. Jesus speaks through the Church, as Holy Scripture tells us: “He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me” (Luke 10:16).

Yes, Jesus had a free human will and the divine will, two wills that were in union, as we are taught by the Church of Jesus. Catholic Christians follow Jesus and do not pretend to exceed Him in wisdom and other attributes. It is Ahmadi Muslims and Jews and others who are trying to exceed the wisdom and will and other attributes of Jesus.

All human beings are called to follow Jesus because He is our God. Ahmadi Muslims and Jews and others want Jesus to follow them, and their errors. Please do not try to put any false Ahmadi wisdom on Jesus. Jesus speaks through His oral and written word, and His Church. We followers of Jesus don’t submit to Ahmadi Islam, a sect that gives false information on our Jesus.
Let Jesus speak and plead for himself. Just give Jesus’ unequivocal claims and reasons in concentrated form, if not in detail. Let Jesus express himself freely, please.
Jesus speaks for Himself to His followers, us Christians. You are not a follower of Jesus, and you do not speak for Jesus. Catholic Christians speak for Jesus, because Jesus speaks through them, His Body.
I love Jesus because he had a lot of wisdom and he feared nobody except GodAllahYHWH.
I love Jesus because He is God and Man, as He teaches us through His Body the Church.

God bless,

Rony

newadvent.org/cathen/04543c.htm

After travelling through Burgundy and the south of France, Urban II convoked a council at Clermont-Ferrand, in Auvergne. It was attended by fourteen archbishops, 250 bishops, and 400 abbots; moreover a great number of knights and men of all conditions came and encamped on the plain of Chantoin, to the east of Clermont, 18-28 November, 1095. On 27 November, the pope himself addressed the assembled multitudes, exhorting them to go forth and rescue the Holy Sepulchre. Amid wonderful enthusiasm and cries of “God wills it!” all rushed towards the pontiff to pledge themselves by vow to depart for the Holy Land and receive the cross of red material to be worn on the shoulder. At the same time the pope sent letters to all Christian nations, and the movement made rapid headway throughout Europe. Preachers of the crusade appeared everywhere, and on all sides sprang up disorganized, undisciplined, penniless hordes, almost destitute of equipment, who, surging eastward through the valley of the Danube, plundered as they went along and murdered** the Jews in the German cities. One of these bands, headed by Folkmar, a German cleric, was slaughtered by the Hungarians.** Peter the Hermit, however, and the German knight, Walter the Pennyless (Gautier Sans Avoir), finally reached Constantinople with their disorganized troops. To save the city from plunder Alexius Comnenus ordered them to be conveyed across the Bosporus (August, 1096); in Asia Minor they turned to pillage and were nearly all slain by the Turks. Meanwhile the regular crusade was being organized in the West and, according to a well-conceived plan, the four principal armies were to meet at Constantinople.

Ben Masada;4844164:
Ben, a morsel of truth again, ITs a revelation. But you did say something truth,

I Agree! The truth cannot and will never be hidden on behalf of the Catholic Church,

It impossible because the RCC is the Pillar of Truth. You will find nothing but the truth in the teachings of the RCC.
Why because Jesus Christ is the Church.
You cannot separate him from his church. I already told you that.

Now yes, you said the whole truth: If Jesus Christ is God, and Jesus Christ is the Church, so the Church is God? Is it a modern kind of idolatry? Now, I understand why it doesn’t matter what the Church does. It is God and you are stuck
to it.
You want the truth ben, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. One road will get you there the straight and narrow.
One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Sorry but I am not an idolater. I can find the Truth in the Faith of Jesus which was Judaism.
the Lord is in my soul, but I do not have the AUTHORITY to teach what I think, I have the wisdom to learn from the Church. My Church the RCC. The bible tells me that. You made my day ben, and now I am going to enjoy the weekend and rejoice and be glad.
Well, I am glad I made you happy somehow.
You can keep trying to destory the church, many have tried, and failed as you have done. Read about Saul ben, Maybe you can learn something! You may even see some of yourself in him. Jesus changed saul and can change you do. All you have to do is ask.
How could have Jesus changed Paul, who made a liar out of Jesus? Look at this: Jesus said that he had not come to abolish the Law. (Mat. 5:17) Then, Paul came and said, No, the Law was abolished on the cross. (Ephe. 2:15) Who is telling the truth, Jesus or Paul? You decide. Paul contradicted Jesus. Whom are with, Jesus or Paul? If you ask me, I am with Jesus. I think Paul is the one who is a liar and not Jesus. What do you say?

Ben:

Have a great a wonderful week-end!

But you are posting in a non-catholic religion section. The home field advantage is not with you.
Wrong.

We are hosting this section so that you can convince us of the truthfulness of your beliefs.

Good luck!

Why? What is it to be a Jew in your account? Is it to be like Jesus who had an aversion for Gentiles? Did you know
that Jews in general don’t give a damn about sharing God’s Word with the Gentiles? Now, that I am here trying to share the true light of God’s Word’s with you, now, all of a sudden I am not Jewish? Let it be. It’s even better if you don’t believe I am Jewish.

Ben: 👍
You might consider trying to share something that is at least somewhat related to Judaism. Also, I’ve been talking about Judaism on these boards for a few years now and I find it very easy to disucss judaism without insulting christian beliefs in Jesus.

Not me and not the Jews of the time of Jesus. The Romans killed Jesus; not the Jews. Besides, I don’t like to deviate from the issue of the thread. When this happens, it’s because people ask or blame us for having killed Jesus.
As the scriptures show, it was the Jews who arrested Jesus and conducted a trial. Then, having found Him guilty of blasphemy - He claimed to be God - they sent Him to Pilate because under Roman occupation, the Jews could not carry out a sentence of capital punishment. So, yes, the Romans killed Jesus at the insistence of the Jews. “Crucify him. Crucify him.” “Let his blood be upon us.”
You have all the right in the world to your opinion,
myself not to agree with it. Of course. But you began this thread with a lot of bluster about Jesus’s wedding in Cana. It appears you are reduced to mere opinions at this point.
How about the other thousands of Jews the Romans crucified? Didn’t they bleed? Didn’t they feel pain? Were
they any less of a Jew?The Romans crucified lots of Jews. However, this is not relevant to our discussion. You need to have a physician remove that very large chip from your shoulder.
That’s not Jewish. Since Jesus was Jewish, this
never happened. He never said such a thing. Is this more of your opinions? 😛
You are talking as a Gentile; I am talking as a Jew. Jesus was Jewish. What do you know that I don’t?
I know that Jesus is the Messiah and the second person of the Blessed Trinity.
Because the job to get things done at a wedding belongs to the mother of the Bride. It’s in the thread. That Mary had to be there, it’s because the Magdalene’s parents were probably dead.
You repeatedly miss the point. Why would the author have to go to the trouble of stating the obvious? If Jesus was the bridegroom then, DUH!, Mary, His mother, would be there. And, for the zillionth time, why was Jesus invited to His own wedding? Remember, Jesus was not “called” as you claimed earlier…Jesus AND His disciples were called.
You are to blame for making an insane man out
of Jesus. Jesus had to be crazy to claim such a thing. And “all of his friends believed him!” Aren’t you ashame to lie? Even the Gentile who wrote the gospel said that even his brothers didn’t believe him. You must be kidding!
Jesus’ cousins (you know that the Aramaic does not contain a word for “cousin” and that Abraham called his own nephew, Lot, brother because of this limitation) did not believe Him. At least, not until after the resurrection, that is.

So, what will it be for you personally, Ben?

Is Jesus a lunatic who said crazy things, a liar who falsely claimed to be God, or Lord God Himself?

Only the Jews prophecied to refuse Him abstained.
The Church has been prophecied… and by YOUR prophet.
Zephaniah (Sophonias): 1, 2, 3

Many Jews followed Jesus…and then they were no longer Jew nor Gentile, but One.

Jesus died according to the prophets [Isaias - Wisdom so forth]

See the following prophecy [ancient] telling us how the Gentiles who were not given the laws of God - become one of His.

Zephaniah Chapter 3

A woe to Jerusalem for her sins.
A prophecy of the conversion of the Gentiles, and of the poor of Israel: God shall be with them. The Jews shall be converted at last.

1 Woe to the provoking and redeemed city, the dove.2 She hath not hearkened to the voice, neither hath she received discipline: she hath not trusted in the Lord, she drew not near to her God.3 Her princes are in the midst of her as roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they left nothing for the morning.4 Her prophets are senseless, men without faith: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have acted unjustly against the law.5 The justLord is in the midst thereof, he will not do iniquity: in the morning, in the morning he will bring his judgment to light, and it shall not be hid: but the wickedman hath not known shame.6 I have destroyed the nations, and their towers are beaten down: I have made their ways desert, so that there is none that passeth by: their cities are desolate, there is not a man remaining, nor any inhabitant.7 I said: Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive correction: and her dwelling shall not perish, for all things wherein I have visited her: but they rose early, and corrupted all their thoughts.8 Wherefore expect me,** saith the Lord, in the day of my resurrection that is to come, for my judgment is to assemble the Gentiles, and to gather the kingdoms: and to pour upon them my indignation, all my fierce anger: for with the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured**.9 Because then I will restore to the people a chosen lip, that all may call upon the name of the Lord, and may serve him with one shoulder.

Oh now you can read my mind. Maybe by next week you answer a simple question. Its so hard for you and I do not know why?

Again who do you say Jesus Christ claimed to be? What are you afraid to answer it? Or is it really just pure ignorance on your part. Oh well gotta Go!
Jesus claimed to be what he was: A Jew. And you should be grateful to us the Jews that we have given you a Messiah. If it were not for us you would still be in the cave worshipping the stone and the fire, or even a block of wood in the shape of a demon. If it were not for us the Jews, you would not have a Scripture to read. If it were not for us the Jews you would not know the meaning of the word Monotheism. If it were not… well, I think you must have got the idea. Therefore, stop biting the hand that feeds you.

Ben:

It’s pretty sufficient to know that the Church teaches Jesus is of the Trinity. Therefore God came to die for our sins - and no other way can we come to Him in Heaven, except thru HIS greatest act of love.

The Church also teaches that [as per the words of Jesus] the man and woman become one - Jesus is already One in the Trinity.

God wouldn’t come to earth to procreate with His creatures. [the depths of that idea makes me cringe] and it goes to a level of something i dont even want to go to.

Mankind might wish they could create a beautiful ‘object of amore’ but Jesus didnt and doesnt feel that way towards His creation. And there is a great relief in knowing this too BTW.

Men might think that it takes this sort of conjugal relationship in order to feel complete [which as i said the man becomes one with a woman = equal] and so therefore human sinners might need marriage - God does not.

And the scriptures never taught Jesus married. Mary of Magdelene was never once called Mary of Jesus - which is the proper form for a married woman in those days.

Keep in mind - she always maintained Mary of Magdelene - which is to say she remained single through out her whole adult life. She was ‘of’ the town - Magdelene - and not of a husband.

So this is WHY the Apostles never had to mention she remained single - the ‘of’ after her name already explained it sufficiently for their language.
I understand that the scriptures don’t mention marriage and that it is clear Jesus wasn’t married according to tradition and the Church. My question was only what lessons, if any, does the Church teach that are based on Jesus not being married?

Cont’ prophecy…

10** From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, shall my suppliants, the children of my dispersed people, bring me an **offering.
11 In that day thou shalt not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me for then I will take away out of the midst of thee thy proud boasters, and thou shalt no more be lifted up because of my holy mountain.
12 And I will leave in the midst of thee a poor and needy people: and they shall hope in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed, and shall lie down, and there shall be none to make them afraid.
14 Give praise, O daughter of Sion: shout, O Israel: be glad, and rejoice with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
15 The Lord hath taken away thy judgment, he hath turned away thy enemies: the king of Israel, the Lord, is in the midst of thee, thou shalt fear evil no more.
16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: Fear not: to Sion: Let not thy hands be weakened.
17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save: he will rejoice over thee with gladness, he will be silent in his love, he will be joyful over thee in praise.
18 The triflers that were departed from the law, I will gather together, because they were of thee: that thou mayest no more suffer reproach for them.
19 Behold I will cut off all that have afflicted thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, **and will gather her that was cast out: and I will get them praise, and a name, **in all the land where they had been put to confusion.
20 At that time, when I will bring you: and at the time that I will gather you: for I will give you a name, and praise among all the people of the earth, when I shall have brought back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.

Are you assuming that I am not clever enough to fabricate a writing like this of yours above, and then ask you what do you say about it?
Okay.

I can see that you are in complete denial of anything that does not agree with your own opinions.

It does not matter what historians say. It does not matter what archaeologists say. It does not matter what any scripture scholars say.

It only matters what Ben Masada and Dan Brown say.

You dismiss our evidence as fiction without giving it any consideration whatsoever, but you expect us to accept your mere fiction as evidence.

Discussion with you is a waste of time.

I may continue to post refutations of your nonsense from time to time, but this is done for the benefit of the Christians who follow your threads lest any of them be deceived by you.

I understand that the scriptures don’t mention marriage and that it is clear Jesus wasn’t married according to tradition and the Church. My question was only what lessons, if any, does the Church teach that are based on Jesus not being married?
God didn’t teach about Himself in the respect to carnal delivery or necessity.

He taught His Apostles for forty days prior to Rising to Heaven. In those days He taught them the Trinitarian formula which pertained to Himself. And all the laws of marriage are to be upheld to mankind who need that relationship - not to Himself.

So it is absent on these teachings because it wasn’t a necessity to speak about especially in light of the fact He never married nor intended to - if Jesus married or had children - it would have been mentioned easily enough.
God would have been selfish knowing He would die for mankind - and yet marry only to widow and orphan a family. Thru His death for us - we know then He was not selfish.

Never in the Bible does it mention [insert a woman’s name] ‘of’ Jesus.

Therefore - that simply small task itself prooves Jesus never married.
But what you are asking is inferred rather than taught because it was never a question why Jesus Who is God never married. Its just not logical that God would have any sort of carnal relationship with His creatures…no matter what laws He made for man, He Himself was not an adherent to such things since He didnt come for that purpose and He already created man - there was never a need to procreate man.

Ben:
no sir, the hand that feeds us is God’s, and we are grateful to God , the same God who put you on the straight way after worshipping idols.

Also - remember the Jews asked Him who would be the husband of the wife since a brother must marry their brother’s widow…

He said there is NO marrying in Heaven.
So again marriage was never a necessity in Heaven and He Being God isn’t under that human carnal law.

NOTE: again - had Jesus had a family - and a wife, and a brother [so forth] the laws of the times would demand He pass them onto His family.

Where is that?

Where is ever written about the children of Jesus were ever in existence?
Where is the wife of Jesus, the widow at His death?

Where is the bequeathment of His wife to His brother?

We see Him say ‘John, this is YOUR Mother’ about His own Mother - the only family He had at death.

I understand that the scriptures don’t mention marriage and that it is clear Jesus wasn’t married according to tradition and the Church. My question was only what lessons, if any, does the Church teach that are based on Jesus not being married?
I think this is interesting but off topic so I started another thread to discuss it.

The topic is the Wedding of Jesus - so i don’t understand how that was off topic.

God Bless.
Because his question does not address the wedding since he says there was none and I agree, but the lessons of Jesus not being married. 🤷

Ben Masada;:
Besides, Jesus survived the cross and left with Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea.
Wondering why the anti-Christian sites run by Jews state that the historical records of Judaism admit that Jesus was illegally crucified, and that he did not survive that crucifixion.

estesbob;:
guess we should count ourselves lucky that this is not another one of those “Jesus wasn’t married therefore he must have been a homosexual” threads.
One of the pseudopigraphia texts that implies Jesus was married, also implies that he had at least one homosexual affair. (IIRC, it was Secret Mark. (I’m aware of the issues surrounding the “discovery” of Secret Mark.))

I’ve forgotten who it was, but there is analysis of the Synoptic Gospels, the Gospel of John, and The Acts of Thomas, that concluded that the wedding at Cana was that of Jesus’ twin brother — Thomas.
