No adult Christian including the Catholic ever believe the real existence of Santa Clause in the way he was described. But, anyway, I did play Santa to my kid for educational purpose. The Indonesianized version of Santa Clause, for sure. We don’t have any chimney in our home.
Well, either you at least told your child the truth, right? or I guess at least you are confessing to us that you lied to your kid. (Catholics do believe that confession is absolution for their soul, correct? so I guess you are (not sure if the following is a correct term or not) absolved).

😊 Mind pointing the direction? I just realized how truly long this thread was. Thanks! 👍
Read the New Testament and the writings of the early Church. If JESUS had ever married if wold have been mentions at least once.
**Also If we look at the Saints all the Apostles, his Mother the BVM, Her Husband ST Joseph, His Aunt ST Elizabeth, His Grandmother St Anne we see that those close in relation and friendship were known and named Saint no mention of a wife.

You may want to lok back over the Tread as I and other have stated that in addressing the OP that Christ had not even met Mary Magdalene at the time of the wedding in Cana so that knocks her out of the running right there**

I bold the part you skipped so you will have no problem see it this time.

:whackadoo:
I stand by what I said
okay. Thanks for the help. Guess I am excused from hunting down your particular post that you seem to think is worthy that it should stand out in this sea of posts. At least I excuse myself. 🙂

Is not Mary of Magdalen considered a saint? 😉 Why would that be?

My apolagies if you are a women then I would have no problem addressing you as Ma’am.Women are not looked down upon by Christ nor his Church, but are held in great esteem. I arrived at the conclusion that you are confused by reading your post.
I did not take Jesus to be the kind of man to look down on women. I just wonder why being married to one would be considered “not a possibility” unless one takes marriage to a woman to be a bad thing. And just so you know, your conclusion is wrong. I can possibly see how you might arrive to this conclusion being that I have yet to define exactly what it is I believe. (please, do not ask for it is irrelevant to this topic).

Yes she is a Saint she is mentioned in scripture the point I was making is that we ther relationship to Jesus is known of these people and yet no a mention of a wife. If a a person is not married it is hardly necessary to state he/she is not but when telling about some one who is married there spouse is names and states wife/husband of. get the point?

I wasn’t referring to my post but others who have given great answers not just
Those opposed have not used anything but sheer “I’m right and you’re wrong” to support their views.

My son knows that there is Santa Clause. When there is a spirit of sharing and giving, there is Santa Clause. You don’t have to see an old man riding a sledge pulled by flying raindeers.

You are being given the opportunity to point out these GREAT rebuttals to the original post. Am I to do all the work in order to fulfill your expectation of me to respond? Point them out. I will go read them again. It is important to you. Please do not mistake that as it should be important to me.

👍 Exact same view I have of Jesus!

Edited to add: though I do not say there IS a Jesus! More that I think there is relevance in the story of Jesus.

I had not addressed the rest of it because you were answering a question I had asked and the only part I was willing to call “an answer” was the part I responded to. However, challenge laid down and challenge accepted. 👍 lol

To give acknowledgment to the rest of your post, my reply is simply this: depends on who wrote it and what their agenda was. All I have to do is look at who is claimed to have written the majority of the New Testament to see that the writer of the bulk of it was anti family and anti life to realize why there MIGHT NOT BE (being fair) mention of a wife.

Given that the Creator created life, deduction says that a son of His would promote life and not…so… much… death; at least I see it that way.

 damn! not cool! By the way, notice I did answer and notice the reason I did NOT address it earlier. Why can’t you just cooperate. You want me to respond to something and yet you play difficult about it. Reminds me of my days back in pre-school.

I acknowledge that you replied. I am not sure what you mean by the reason you did not address it earlier. It may be the lateness of the hour.

I haven’t taken your responses seriously did you intend them to be a serious discussion?

The thread is that the Marriage at Cana was actually Jesus’
post that refute this and I am not going to do a blow by blow you need to read the thread for that:
post 4, 6, 13,14, 20,22, 27,30,39,72,111,193,224 are a few there are many off topic.
I really didn’t want a response only pointing out that your statement
Those opposed have not used anything but sheer “I’m right and you’re wrong” to support their views.
was not true unless you mean the OP:eek: than I would agree with you because that is all he has ever presented.

Ben Masada:

I just read your original post. Very interesting and well written. I have always hoped that Jesus was married and had children so that he could know that love which cannot be experienced in any other way. Your post has touched my hope.

I have not read this whole thread so, if you have been asked this before, I apologize for the redundancy. Have you done any study of whether Jesus married, at Cana, not only Mary but also Martha? Such a theory has been around since at least the 19th Century. Are you familiar with it?

Thanks

William
No William, I am not aware of that theory. The only thing I know about Martha is that she lived with Mary; I mean, she used to take care of Mary’s house while she was at her business in Magdala. But this theory could be something worthy a glance or two.

Ben: 🙂
